I installed a type s bov on my girlfriends automatic gst. It doesn't sound like mine does at all. It has more of a wooshing sound than the regular high pitch wistle. So i adjusted the screw on top to add a little more pressure on it but then it sounded like a hks bov. I'm not asking how loud it should be but, I do know that it should sound the same as mine when it does shift. It is holding boost more though instead of staying at 13 it now spikes to 17 and then settles at 15ish So why would it sound so much different?

are you pushing more boost than her car if so that is it my car sounds diferent than my friends gsx all because i am pushing more boost than him and we have the same BOV a stock crushed 1g bov

but i mean if that isnt the case then i dont know what it is

She is still on stock turbo it spikes up to about 18psi and then falls down to 15 and drops off in higher rpms as t25's tend to do. I'm running 11 on a 14b but mine is manual so i know what its suppose to sound like. I know that the sound changes on mine when im at higher levels. When i had the t25 with the same setup it still sounded just like it does now. We haven't checked for leaks yet but would that effect it that much to where it doesn't sound right at all? That would have to be a pretty serious leak!

Just a shot in the dark here but do you think it might have something to due with the fact that your is MT and hers is AT??

I know that there is a difference between while driving but while sitting in nuetral there should not be a difference. it should be the same.

Right, because our cars make some sickening boost while free-revving in neutral and snapping off the throttle. Mine makes somewhere in the .5 to 1psi range, enough for an ear-piercing screech from my BOV.
