I like to give credit where credit is due. Companies who make knock products are thieves, really. Doesn't really matter if the product works or not. Buy from vendors that support the community... no ones looking to make a quick buck.

QFT.

If everybody followed that philosophy, then wouldn't all of us have name-brand parts? If that's the case, then you better trade in your eBay intake for a Dejon/Injen one. Just sayin'. To each his own I guess.

I dont know why there is so much hating on this company if you never tried it, but so far the people who have tested (bought it) have said they are good including me :)

Its also not considered a knockoff, if the company (Greddy) is out of business and the BOV has been discontinued a long time ago.

Anyways they even sent me an email saying thanks for the review and vid clips I took, I gave them permission to use my clips and my review for their channel on youtube. Heres the vid they made of my vid clips:

<object width="425" height="344"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/FbZJpOqMOCE&hl=en&fs=1"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/FbZJpOqMOCE&hl=en&fs=1" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"></embed></object>

I say it came out good, cause it my car :D

wow some of you guys are some A-class ASSHOLES. I just bought one of these bovs and i have to say...im very impressed. Ive never owned a authentic greddy type-s but ive heard the horror stories (and read all of you guys's horror stories in previous posts) and this bov is pretty damn good. Their great guys and provide good customer service. Just give them a chance, what have you guys got to lose? :D

ive had some experience with ebay hks ssqv and greddy type-s copies.

the main weakness in both of them are the diaphragms. even the one in the knockoff ssqv is crap. as someone earlier mentioned. when you start hearing it flutter no matter what it's done. open it up and the seal inbetween the main chamber and the smaller one in the back with the vac nipple is the likely culprit.

now the positive thing about the knockoff type-s, it is easy to change the diaphragm, but with the ssqv knockoff, once that thing rips, its done. when you see it, just by design there really is no replacing it, but trying to patch up the rip/hole that will happen and it won't go so well. perhaps reinforcing it even before it happens right when you purchase it, but still crap.

looks like these NRGs are just knockoffs with new diaphragms cleaned up.

You got one too? So I guess there are 3 reviews in this thread now. Mine still whistles real nice, better than my greddy type-s and its holding just fine. By the way my review is in the last video of ngrperformance's channel.

And to redturboeclipse, your right those knockoff diaphragms are crap, dont even know why they would release such a thing, but im assuming because they are so damn cheap. But Ive compared both the NGR one and the knockoffs im still trying to get rid of and the NGR quality is different than the knockoffs, knockoffs use CNC aluminum and this NGR one uses same material greddy used. And internals are different and look better quality. (In my review, I compare all three BOVs)

One thing I did try with the knockoff (just to experiment) was to change out my greddy diaphragm and put it in the knockoff to see if it was just the diaphragm that made the whistle and nope no whistle, so the knockoffs are crap compared to NGR one, you can see it is not just the diaphragm that makes it work.

well you guys complain that there are no good vendors out there for dsms yet when one small company comes along with a good idea everybody jumps on the bandwagon and screams SCAM! I dont think thats fair but whatever, I dont spend all day on the forums looking for people with solid arguments to warn but whatever. Somebody's got to do it right? ROFL

Thats the best sounding BOV you can buy now recirculated.(can't buy the type-s) It sounds identical to my type-s wistle and all. The ebay knockoff's don't have the wistle, and the hks you can hardly hear recirculated.

Read the post. Have someone help you with the bigger words.

People have provided proof that the diaphragm design is better than the rest of the copies, etc. All you've done is stopm around like a toddler. That helps nobody.

Please dont insult me, i merely stated the fact that you got me for flaming yet there's other people putting down a very good product (which ive bought mind you) WITHOUT even trying it. Dont talk down to me just because your a moderator. I could really care less, its a forum and its designed for people to speak their opinion. I spoke mine and you "warned" me and i spoke my opinion about that too. Now back whats actually important, the bov worked good except i had a minor problem with it fluttering under 5lbs of boost. When i mean flutter i mean that it didnt really open quick enough under low boost. I adjusted it to the softest setting and it still fluttered badly under 5lbs of boost. Im speaking from just daily driving purposes, now for actually getting on it, it held 15lbs beautifully. I highly recommend this bov to those smart enough to try something before they open their mouth. :sneaky:

Contact them, you know they have 6 month warranty which is a plus, so I assume they can do something about it.

Hey, I've learned my lesson with Chinese knockoffs. My intake will be replaced very soon because I need something that will fit my Holset a little better. (even though, a pipe is a pipe)

But, I still say buy from vendors that support our community. I'm sure you can already tell that many companies aren't to keen on make new products for our cars.... who are the chinese companies going to copy once that happens?
I think, DSMers shoot themselves in the foot on many issues, I understand that this is slightly different, but still...

Also, not to knock this company at all, I am sure they are trying to make a good product, but I am willing to bet that this BOV doesn't work well under low boost/part throttle at all. The diaphragm just looks too stiff to me, but idk.

yeah it flutters a bit much under low boost part throttle which is why i sent it back to them to check it out. Their going to check it out, it seems either the spring is too stiff or it has a sticky valve. But their communicating with me about it which is always a plus. Their good guys and just like any good vendor, their not going to start out headstrong from the get go but i see what your saying.

Pthere's other people putting down a very good product (which ive bought mind you) WITHOUT even trying it.
Again, read the whole thread before popping off at the mouth.

Negatives.

Positive.

Funny, huh?
Please dont insult me,
Never did. You, on the other hand, insulted the community.

Keep up.
Dont talk down to me just because your a moderator.
Get your head out of your ass. I "talked down" to you because you're a newbie blatantly flaming others.
I could really care less, its a forum and its designed for people to speak their opinion. I spoke mine and you "warned" me and i spoke my opinion about that too.
I warned you for flaming. The warning was tagged as such. Don't forget that others have the right to their opinion as well, Champ.

Also, please attempt to spell words properly. "They're" is not "their", and so on.

Play nice or GTFO. Thanks

Wow so its not ok for forum members to flame others, but yet moderators can? Dont talk to me about spelling hillbilly, i could give a rat's ass whether or not i spelled the right "their" for the right sentence. Oh yeah im sorry your moderator that makes you internet god. Yeah the product had an issue with slow opening under low boost and partial throttle, oh well what do you know i see more threads on greddy type-s problems yet people still pay over 150 for those crappy bov's!!!! OMFG!!!! You tell me if Greddy responds back to you when you complain about a diaphragm issue....oh wait they can't....they dont make the bov anymore...hmm could you imagine that? Its a new bov i experienced a small issue with it under part throttle which is why i shipped it back and "THEY'RE" going to figure the issue out and get back to me. Lastly, ive been around the forum for a LONG time, just because i dont make it a daily goal to post 50 times a day on here doesnt make me "NEWB" . Get a life im sure you can read above my reminders....JOIN DATE: May 06. As far as contacting them here's "THEIR" link on ebay.

eBay My World - ngrperformance

once again "THEY'RE" good guys and will answer any questions regarding this bov.

Warning given. I said play nice, Champ...

I agree; I am extremely thankful to the vendors that R&D their own products specifically for the DSM community. However there are just some parts where it wouldn't hurt so much to go on the cheaper side IMO. Like you said, a pipe's a pipe, and for the most part a bov is just a bov.

In the perfect world, that should be the ideology that we should follow -- always support the people who did the R&D for our parts. Unfortunately we're all guilty at some point of going on the cheap side... especially with a DSM. Unless of course you have wads of money to spend.

Like you said, a pipe's a pipe, and for the most part a bov is just a bov.
As demonstrated by the diaphragm diagram, I'd argue that a BOV is not just a BOV. The reason we run these is to protect our $$$ turbos from an early demise. Having shoddy workmanship as your "insurance" doesn't make for very good insurance at all. Heck, I've seen some odd fitment issues on pipes that are "just pipes", too.

I do think that this company is at least putting forth an effort to provide a product better than the next nearest competitor, and that is commendable. Will the product stand strong over time; let's hope so.

Warning given. I said play nice, Champ...

congratulations man your a true class act

UPDATE: I got the bov about 3 days after i sent it to them, they gave me a brand new one no questions asked preset and everything. I got the bov put it on and have had no issues with it. It doesnt even flutter anymore! SOrry for the delay in update. The bov is now available on ebay...

eBay Motors: NEXT GENERATION RACING (NGR) TYPE-S BLOW OFF VALVE BOV (item 170280265125 end time Nov-28-08 13:44:32 PST)

thanks and p/m me for more details.

asiahispanico, let us know how they treated you in regards to warranty. Mine is perfect, I never had fluttering issue in low boost and it sound incredible. Also I compared the 3 bovs if you see my review, I even compared the internals. It is far better than both greddy and knockoffs, so for the price and customer service it = :thumb: I was never able to get in touch with Greddy even with email when I had my authentic one. :notgood:

*By the way I stated my review in ngrperformance youtube channel, its their last video of customer review, it in the description.
