Jdm bov, any good? (hks replica)

Is this blow off valve any good? It looks like an exact replical of the hks one. Im just wondering because its super cheap. so does anyone have this?

Me and a friend of mine have replica hks bovs, ebay bovs. that dont give us problems. Stay away from the greddy type S and blitz, ive seen them leak boost.

eBay stuff like that just doesn't work
save a few bucks get a 1G bov or a good brand bov
that you can recirculate if you don't have a GM/MAFT set up

Buy an evo MR or 1g bov for $40. Do not use fake ebay BOV's. Also - companies that make those cheap fake parts drive the real performance companies out of business.

Those HKS knockoffs suck! As well as the greddy knockoffs.

I'm all for EBAY parts and have tested many to help the community. Just do a search on ebay parts and I'm likely there posting on them. I'm definitely an advocate for ebay parts.

But these bovs just don't last. I had the exact same SSQV v1 replica above there, and also with the type-s knockoff.

The Type-S knockoff is prone to diaphram ripping which everybody knows about. So we thought lets try the HKS copy. Well, after a while something was acting weird, all fluttering. We disassembled it and you will see the "diaphram" that separates the chamber between where the vac nipple is and to the main valve ripped and thers really no easy way to replace it because its adhered on somehow, and when its ripped, its ripped. No way of just replacing it like the knockoff type-s.

Only way would be to patch it up, but that is reallly ghetto and not a for sure fix.

So if there is a knockoff to be had, get the knockoff type-s because WHEN (and its not a matter of if, definitely when) the diaphram rips, at least you can replace it with an authentic one from greddy making it a usuable valve still more than half less than the real one.

If you are looking for cheap..

get 1g bov, OR if you have a 2g and dont want adapter flange or piping, just get EVO 8 or 9 BOV.
EVO 8 is plastic but can hold 20lbs prob more. EVO 9 I believe is the steel one and can definitely hold 20+.

Some people are saying they get the ebay ones until they can afford real ones, well if thats the case just do what I said above with the 1g or EVO valves. If you are being cheap until you can afford a real setup, you are spending more TIME and money getting the proper adapter flanges or ic pipes for those hks or greddy knockoffs. the evo 8/9 valves are installed same stock pipe.

If it's not set up for recirculation, do not buy it.

Search "venting" if you need to.

exactly....Ebay parts are sketchy, some brands work perfectly, some are just crap...If your willing to take the gamble, go for it
