Hi Guys,

i'm thinking of purchasing cams, springs and retainers for my AWD 4g63t colt. i have DSMLink and hx35 12cm2 billet wheel with tubular equal length manifold :D

Now i have to decide whether i should go for CROWER 272/272 or BC 272/272? please help me deciding for one, suggestions are welcome :)

Also let me know which Springs and retainers i should go for and which ones are the best? i was thinking to go for Crower S&R if i go for crower 272 and BC s&r if i go with BC272.

please share your experiences on both cams, i havent seen ppl running crowers much though, extremepsi is offering very good discounts on these cams too.

Quick help and suggestions is what i need here.

Thanks in advance.

delta regrinds takes too much time, thats what i heard. their turnover time is too much PLUS i cant find them in stock anywhere.

BTW which brand regrinds are you talking about? 250$ a pair when you give them your stock cams right? i cant give me cams, i live far far away from US.

Arent Crower and BC(brian crower) cams that same? Anyways i have bc 272 in my 1g gsx and i love them nice slight lope at idle and definite improvement in the top end and pretty affordable to. i picked mine up from a guy who did 2 track runs and blew his engine 175$

you can find used bc 272 for cheap.... and yea crower and bc is the same....

no they arent the same.
and this is what i want to know, im not able to find crower 272 camshafts specs. has anybody used them on their 1g? experience?
which ones i should go for? i'm thinking on pushing 1.5bar with 100shot nitrous and want to rev 8k or 8.5k

No they aren't. BC is trash compared to Crower and many other camshaft manufacturers.

BC cams have always made very good numbers. They gain nice up top and dont sacrifice low end. Even the 280's keep there low end. I know of 700+whp and 600+whp cars running BC 280's. Their priced very reasonably and make impressive numbers. I cant think of anyone running crower cams. Other then a v8 guy.

BC 280's gets my vote.

@91stocker
you have to have cam gears for tune in your 280 cams and that should preferably be done on a dyno, we dont have one in our city neither i have budget to buy cam gears. so i'm ditching it and will prefer 272s.

@doubleclutch99
Yes! they definitely are but price difference is quite significant which i cant afford at this point.

BTW where can i buy Delta Kelford 272 regrinds from?

The K272s aren't regrinds though, they are cut from new cores.

The OP isn't talking about 280s though, the BC 280s are a decent cam. The BC 272s are at the bottom of the barrel as far as advertised 272 duration cams go.

@delta
### i dont live in US, i'm still in mist of finalizing cam for my setup, any would do but i dont want to degree my cams as i dont have camgears neither i plan to have them. i want something like just drop in and gain power.
which cams do you recommend for this requirement?

h272 for drop in, the k 272 require better springs for higher rpm's and boost

call today ship today : )

thanks for your valuable suggestion.

Another quick one, hope i'm not going on your nerves :)
i'm going to get BC single Springs and TI Retainers. which one should be straight drop ins?

@delta
how can you take my order? i'd prefer an email and a secure CC transaction. whats the process?
shipping will be to chicago, PM me the total best possbile price with shipping.

I'm just waiting for a confirmation from my cousin's end to accept the shipment. will put up the order as soon as i receive a go-ahead signal :)

@91stocker
Yes i do! this is the reason why i was stuck in deciding between BC272 and Crower272 but i think Delta HKS272 is another good option.
Delta K272 sounds sooooo tempting but degreeing them is keeping me away from them :(

I wonder why people dont use crower, they have very good reputation on other platforms but havent seen anyone run those on their DSMs, WHY?

So, with which cams shall i go with?
1. Brian Crower 272
2. Crower 272
3. Delta HKS 272

how much are u making on dyno jesse?

I'm down to two now. Preference to delta HKS 272 as they are straight drop in, next on my list is BC272. Now only price will matter.

Which springs and retainers I should get?
