Hi Guys,

i'm thinking of purchasing cams, springs and retainers for my AWD 4g63t colt. i have DSMLink and hx35 12cm2 billet wheel with tubular equal length manifold :D

Now i have to decide whether i should go for CROWER 272/272 or BC 272/272? please help me deciding for one, suggestions are welcome :)

Also let me know which Springs and retainers i should go for and which ones are the best? i was thinking to go for Crower S&R if i go for crower 272 and BC s&r if i go with BC272.

please share your experiences on both cams, i havent seen ppl running crowers much though, extremepsi is offering very good discounts on these cams too.

Quick help and suggestions is what i need here.

Thanks in advance.

i have a set of manley springa and ti retainers that are absolutly brand new in the box..they are good springs.. pm me if your interested

i havent dyno'd my car so any number i could give you would be a guestimate. but i can tell you my idle is fine as far as the cams go and the mid to high range power is impressive to say the least.

I run the BC 280s and I am very happy with my results, idle, powerband etc. I put down 630awhp and 519tq. 500+ft lbs holding from 4800-6900rpm on my 2.3. I cant speak good or bad on the other cam choices, just giving you my personal experience with the BC 280s.

I have heard a number of stories with bc springs breaking and destroying heads. The kelfords are advertised as a 272 reality equal to 280s. Bc cams were tested against many others on dsms and were atleast 10hp down from competition. They had to degree bs to make the gain even to say hks I believe a few regrinds made more power dropped in then bc. I have hks cams crower springs in my AWD and dks cams stock springs in my fwd very happy with dks for the price.

One thing to factor in is that a TON more people run BC Springs & retainers than others..
So naturally there's more of a customer base for those springs and there'll be more failures due to more people simply running them.

It's simply because they're a bang for the buck. I rev to 8k with them. Yes people say you can take them farther but I wouldn't.

If you want some badass springs ferrera(sp) or kiggly imo.
If you want better than stock, for a good price get BC.

Cams too, they're good for the money.

People talk them down because they make less power than others, but they ignore the price difference.
BC 272's have always been budget cams and always will be. They still are very good power increases over stock cams.
Delta regrinds have made slightly more power, however the issue there is that if they aren't in stock(which is VERY often), it can forever until you actually get your cams.

If you have more money, yes opt for something else. If not, BC is just fine.
I'm selling my set of BC 272's and BC springs&retainers for $400 basically new, all new from retail they run around $500-600 for everything. You'll spend a lot more for the serious business springs/retainers/cams.

Hell just each of my FP2 cams when they were bought were like $340 each, so almost $700 for just the cams. I have no complaints about the FP2's though, they're great.
