Woodbury,
I am looking at replacing my BOV. I was looking at the Greddy XS, but I seem to be seeing people with Greddy problems aplenty. What BOV do you like? Why?

Also, what is a safe PSI for a stock turbo? I hear rumors that anything beyond 14 will raise hell on the engine.

Thanks for your help!

Those BOV's on ebay are fake. They are rip-off's and are known to be bad. I would suggst a real Type RS. Good bov, holds a lot, doesn't leak, but no good BOV is going to cost 100 or less unless it is used. At this stage you would probably be best off keeping your 1g and spending the money elsewhere.

You have no idea what you're talking about.
They're not perfect but do some research, theres a huge thread about thrm and the concensus is they're worth every penny.

Ok i have a 90 GSX 3" exhaust no cats, 3" intake, Data logger, Fuel Pump Rewire, and have done all the freebies. I know that the OEM BOV is very good, but im wanting to start modding this thing now. So as of now i have the stock UICP but i have a hard UICP. im wanting to get another BOV but not wanting to crush the OEM. Ive been reading a lot between the Greddy type S and Type RS. I also find these both on ebay for like 60 new shipped but im kinda worried about what they are going to send me. im not wanting to spend anything over like $100 so is there a such BOV? and also how easy is the install? Thanx

With your mods you shouldn't need to upgrade your BOV. I would spend that money on something more worthwhile. Why don't you want to crush it? How about just doing the dodge garage mod on it? Its simple enough.

id go with a greddy type S. my friends has that on his 2g with a 6bolt and hes running 25lbs of boost and it holds up really well. if you have the money to spend and are pusing 25+ lbs id buy a tial they are good for up to 90psi and sound amazing.

I have the hahn stage 2 turbo kit on my 97 mits eclipse gs and would like to upgrade from the bov that was included in the kit. i like the sound of the HKS ssqv bov and plan on turning up the boost to around 25 psi within the next year after i rebuild my engine. is there a bov that would be able to fit on my application that is able to run adequatly at both high and low boost levels? and what kit would i have to buy in order to make it work with the hahn kit? the only one hahn even offers is the Greddy XS bov that they charge 265$ for. I feel that is overpriced and plus i dont neccissarily even like the blow off sound it makes. any opinions appreciated

Tials are 220 with a flange too....:p

I never had a problem with it not opening at low boost......i mean 8-10 psi and above that it wont leak ever at all because its a pull type bov

I dont remember where the videos are on this site with Tial bovs, but just search the video page and you'll run across more than a few

It sorta sounds like saying Jew in a higher pitch voice......true story haha

This isnt my car, but it has a tial on it

Another vote for the HKS as well, sounds awesome and holds 20psi easily. The only real downside to it is its size; it's huge!

I still can't get over how the Greddy type S sounds. It's what i think when someone says i have a turbo car.

I have a Greddy type RS and it sounds close to a HKS SSQ even recirculated. The high flow filter definitly helped to make it louder!
