I have a stroked engine and it does help with torque, but it also makes pealing out that much easier. when you're not runnin those slicks, keeping traction may be tricky. i would definately recommend it though.

sidenote - i love my car, but if i had an extra 3 or 4k when i got my car, i would have gotten an awd in a heart beat. i wish every time i go to the track i had awd.

I hear ya, I want awd so bad after my last outing to the track even with slicks traction is an issue. How is a stroker with fwd. I am looking to do the 2.3L with a gt30r sometime in the future.

The stroker is very nice, even with fwd. I have a gt28rs, which is only boosting at 12psi right now (stock bov still  ), and the baldest tires you have ever seen, and I still ran a 14.8 at 97mph with a 2.4+ 60' time. I know, the time sucks, but notice the speed! Imagine if I had a good 60' time and good tires. That time and speed would be comparable to someone running quite a bit more boost than 12psi.

As for a stroker with a gt30r, I WISH I HAD THAT TURBO! That combo will be great! I actually want to swap out my turbo for a gt30r or gt35r eventually. I just have so much money into mine due to the custom 02 housing and adapter flanges that I had to have made.

Ya I figure the extra torque would be nice for driving around town. Two friends of mine have similar set ups as described(one has 2.3L with gt30r and one has a 2.4L with a gt35r) but they are both awd. The cars rip though so I could only imagine that with slicks on the freeway you would be instopable with the set up. Street tires would be usuless of course as I already spin them through third alot of time :barf: sometimes I hate fwd.

out of curosity, do you friends have 6 or 7 bolt engines? i have caught a lot of grief for stroking my 7 bolt, but from what i understand about the possible problems with crankwalk, the stroker eliminates them. i have also unhooked my clutch over-ride switch for starting w/o the clutch, which helps the problem.

I really don't want to switch to anything less than these falken azenis's I've got on the car now. It'd be the most frustrating experience ever.

Haha trust me you have nooooo idea how bad it can be. Sometimes its not fun driving the car on the street becuase I won't go anywhere. I am going to start running drag radials and hope it helps.

how wide are the tires you guys are runnin? i tried 235's, but they still pealed out (they were cheapies though).

They are both 6bolts, I forgot to mention another buddy of mine who is running a 2.3L with a br580 who is now upgrading to a gt35r. I have also heard about th 7bolt 2.4L cranks not causing crankwalk. Hell even a regular 2.0 7bolt crank can be crankwalk proof if you machine it and get matching sized bearing you'd be good to go. I would go with a 7bolt crank for mine since they are cheaper and easier to find but then I would have to buy a new flywheel so the cost of doing that over a 6bolt crank is negated. I have a 6bolt 2.4L crank waiting for me to install I just need to get the pistons now.

As for tires I am runnign some 225avsesl00's right now. I will be upgrading to some 8" wide wheels with some 245 bf drag radials soon. But hell I even spin 9.5" wide slicks through second gear at the track.

It will :thumb: Lots of fun too.

I ran my 12.42 with 17's :sneaky:

Nice, the memeber "DSM" ran a mid twelve in his fwd on 17's and street tires. How are you able to put the power down?? Hell I was spinning them through second with slicks on my car. I need to get a better suspension set up as right now I am getting massive weight transfer to the rear of the car.

The only suspension mods I have is Eibach pro kit springs. I just slip the clutch until I feel the tires grab then I smash it to the floor and what I believe is my biggest contribution is when I shift to second I power shift and do it fast enough where the nose of my car doesn't have much time to fall. The shift from 1st to 2nd is the most important shift. I expect to break in the 11's with the same setup next spring. I had an extremely bad boost leak(shaft seals in the tb) that I didn't get to before the track closed this year. Also want to take some weight off the car, since I am still at full weight, along with bigger exhaust(2.5" pressbent isn't cutting it anymore). Check out my mods in my profile everything I have done to the car is in my profile besides the bfg drag radials.

I ran 9.612 at 141.96mph a couple weeks ago in my FWD. I also had a couple 1.49 60' times late this year on 28x10.5" MT's. There should be a lot more to come next year, some things were really messed up with the car this year.

You are still to this day my inspiration as to what a fwd is capable of.

The dsm fwd king. OMG What is your goal for next year kiggly? It would be awesome to see you break into the 8's.

I'm hoping for mid-8's next year. I was never able to put together the full combo to get a real pass out of it this year. It was WAY off for the 9.61 pass, like 200whp off. It hasn't been all cranked up yet, and this is also not spraying it. I'm extending what was this year's goal to now be next year's goal. 8.5's and 165mph.

u got any videos, id love to see myself, im hoping for low 12s high 11s, hope to have around 450whp when my car comes back out next year
