Im a little late to this thread..actually im very late.
Lets get down to business. Im actually from the minority that bought a GS-T because I wanted a FWD. I know im going to sound like a poser, but I enjoy racing from a roll and the GS-T really gives me the advantage that I need. Ive driven bolt-on AWD's and they just seem really anemic when going WOT from a roll. No offense guys, the AWD's are definitely fast though from a stop, no comparison there
Anyways, I got a 90 GS-T that has run the following, not by me, but by the former owner.
14.1 @ 100
Mods?
K&N
MBC @ 17lbs?
Testpipe
Pressbent Catback
Race Gas ?
Impressive to say the least. Now here is the updated mod list with the car in my hands.
K&N
MBC
Intake Pipe & UICP
Upgraded SMIC
Prothane Motor Mounts
Heavily ported 14b, manifold, 02 housing
ACT 2100
Turboback
FP Rewire
91 Exhaust cam-waiting to do timing belt to install
205 55R16 Dunlop FM901's
Ive double clamped every coupler and Ive also eliminated all boost leaks. I haven't gotten a logger on it yet, but im sure it shouldn't be knocking on 93 octane with 15lbs of boost, at least it doesn't feel like it does. Ive got new axels as well. Im looking for an AWD drivers axle though to help with traction off the line.
As far as mods go, im at the end of the line. The car is fast enough for me and holds it own on the street. It would be nice to see what I could run in the 1/4 mile and what I could trap. Im just waiting for the track to open up and get a few runs in. Im quite sure with race gas and 18lbs I should have a solid 13 sec street driven FWD GS-T.
On a side note though, I would like to throw a can of 'Engine Restore' into the motor. Supposedly it helps with the compression numbers? Whats everyone's opinion on this? I currently have compression ranging in the 130-140 range and wouldn't mind more solid numbers.
Thanks for reading,
Nomie
