No one put it down. They said you shouldnt blindly buy an ic that has no flow numbers. This isnt putting it down, its being realistic. If you think its putting it down, its because you probably know their right and you're pissed off.

No, Im not mad and they are right about no flow #'s but the seller will gladly give tyou some references and you can ask them about their gains or losses. Like I said, I have track time with and without but I did contact a few people that had them before I bought mine. I didnt buy it for the bling, I bought it for a purpose and it did exactly what I was told it will do. If I wanted bling, I would have bought one of the high$ name brand fmics just to say "I have a ***** fmic"

Actually, he did put it down. He said... "It probably flows like shit." That seems like an insult to me. Maybe, if he would've said... "Be careful, it may not flow all that great, seeing how there's no flow numbers." Instead, he said it flows like shit. Wow, he's pretty amazing to know how it flows just by looking at it! He seems bitter if you ask me. Maybe he's mad because he doesn't have a "bling" intercooler like the other guy.

noone has flow tested it. youre buying it for bling. if it flowed awesome, it would be all over the auction.

I would take your opinion seriously, but you have no profile, and been a member since MAY 2004. JR makes good intercoolers, even if they aren't flow tested, they are proven on the track by members of this forum.

like thats relevant at all.

never said they dont work. if they arent tested in any way, how can you make the claim that theyre good? i dont get it.

What do you have 95talontuner and what kind of time have you run?

i dont even have to own a vehicle to make the comments i did.

all im saying is that if it flowed great, it would be a selling point. these intercoolers could have cores that flow just like a radiator. who knows? do you, no. all you know is that its shiny and will impress others.

so did i say it probably flows like shit or it does. since theyre cheap ebay intercoolers, ill assume the worst. ive seen reviews on plenty of cheap fmic's, so my prediction isnt that far out.

sorry if it seems like i insulted an intercooler on ebay.

sorry, not into the bling. especially on a performance part. cars were meant to be driven, not decorated.

but im sure the bling from the intercooler will match nicely with your hk$ pipes and big loud bov.

Go for it bro. You won't be disappointed, I bought the intercooler he makes specifically for the 1g. It is a very nice piece for $273 shipped. IMO :thumb: Welds and over-all quality is top notch. Buy the custom one and tell him to build it like his 1g intercooler. The core's are the same size. I'll try and post a pic of mine when I get home from work if I remember. It's still not installed on the car... But it looks good in the corner of my room next to my eagle rods and wiseco pistons. (waiting for my block @ machine shop  )

Thanks,
Dustin :talon:

P.S. He also left me positive feedback.

just because an intercooler looks shiney doesnt mean its good. i see no flow # or anything like that on the auction, so why would you want it. it probably flows like shit.

If it flows like shit, I will probably run 11's with something that flowes well

I believe it is, because how can you recommend intercoolers, cams, and other parts on this forum? As far as I can tell you have no experience with them at all. If you have no experience, then you are not creditable.

i guess you have to have mommy and daddy purchase your dream modlist to give any type of answers on this board.

i have a 99gsx that runs 6.8 and everything on it is hk$. my mom cut me a 80000 dollar check and the car is done. now that i own everything, i can correctly comment on everything.

does that make my comments any more creditable for you? come on man.

This is why kids that think they know everything are looked down upon by us adults.

I don't think someone who spells no one... noone, has much room to talk about grammer or typos. Second, I'll take my Greddy pipes and Greddy bov that have no performance, but lots of BLING! Who uses those shitty parts!?!? Nice one! I'm not into bling either-it's called sarcasim.

Hey 95nt.. Whoops, I mean TalonTuner. Why do you care? Don't get mad because there aren't any front mount kits available for your short bus! Don't we normally use a capital letter at the beginning of a sentence? STFU! :thumb:

:talon:

Ok who cares what the 15 year old with his 16th birtyhday present sitting in the driveway thinks, HOW DO I GET A HOLD OF JR! I E-Mailed him through EBay but no reply  I want one of these intercoolers. All I have to say on the retard subject of this intercooler flowing like shit is....... its got to be better than that POS Starion/Conquest Intercooler. That was the worst 50.00 bucks I ever spent. :thumb:

Ok thats enough... We have heard opinions of both sides, I myself like things that have been proven by the community. We have heard opinions of various members, I myself perfer something with numbers.

AND YES it is relevant the numbers you pull. It doesnt matter if you don't dyno your car, people who produce these products should dyno test their products, its more professional, and ofcourse different set ups have different yields, fact of tuning, actually different cars handle mods differently.

To me its just more professional so I will stick to the products with numbers. But if members have it and like it, then we shouldn't discredit them. I think that anything will be better than our side mounts. But who knows how they compare to their competitors. So we have heard from members with it and critics. So debate has ended. Please do not bash vendors on this site. We are all here for to learn from each other.

Oh and to add to that last comment. How do you think HKS SPEARCO GREDDY ETC.... got the way they are........ They made a product threw it on thier car and tried it they probably threw it on a few more cars then started selling it, before you know it they had enough money to test it so then they had to charge more money. I think thats why people in the DSM community that have shops and have record setting cars 9we should all know who i am refering to) and fab thier own parts deserve credit for what they do, they know these cars inside and out and deal with them daily! So give a brotha credit for "Helping" the DSM comunity out.

I emailed the vendor to inquire about the flow rates on the intercoolers.

25" x 7" - 660 cfm
25" x 10"- 980 cfm

I realize these numbers have not been independently verified, so please no one blow a head gasket.

Ya he E-Mailed me back something about an emergency today.
Here is his reply:
"this kit pipies through the core support, just like buscher, indy, and the rest of the pro race kits. You do have to enlarge the holes on the sides of the radiator, but it is not that hard, the intercooler bolts directly to the bumper. The cfm is 660 onthe 7" and 980 on the 10" the kit is $650 in the 7" and $800 in the 10". UPS will take 5-6 days and cost $55. Lead time is 1 day on the intercooler and 2 days max on the kit. The kits are unpainted, but are brushed finish, looks like stainless."
That price is too good to pass up IC piping and all man :thumb: props dawg

Does any one here know for a fact if any of those intercoolers will go in without removing the factory TALON foglights. I did email him and he said that he did not know but for a fact, they will go on with the Eclipses. Also if you ask for the number of the shop, he will give it to you. He gave it to me easily.

Well I went outside to answer my own question. I measured the mouth of my 98 converted Eagle Talon bumper and with the factory Fog lights in place, it measures 24 inches from bracket to bracket. (Really like 24 and a half but we wouldn't want the Intercooler rubbing against the brackets). So the Tank to tank measurement would have to be 24 inches, than the pipes can go under the fog lamps and brackets which would be 1.5 inches on each side added to the 24 inch intercooler. So the exact measurement from pipe top pipe would have to be 27 inches. This is with the inlet and outlet pipes connected to the bottom half of the unit. With the 95-96 bumper, it would basically be the same if you keep your fog lights. ;)

Sorry I dont mean to chime in here...but I am about to purchase this unit

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=33742&item=2480935414

It measures 25x7x3. Seems like a great deal for the price and should be a big boost over my stock smic. I was going to purchase the 5.5" tall unit but he said my egt temps would be lower with this unit...The guy selling these seems knowledgeable and responsive. We will see.
