What MBC is good for at least 25lbs of boost?

I was thinkin about either buying the turbo xs standard manual boost controller,hallman pro boost controller, or forge motorsport unos boost controller? which one will be good for at least 25psi and i wont have issues with?

i was thinkin the turbo xs but it has a bleed valve which i read is not good?

I have one made out of brass pipe fittings, a spring, a screw and a ball bearing. Not even $15 worth of parts. It works fine for 25psi.

You can choose just about any of the ones on your list. Pick which ever one makes your car feel pretty.

I always use the nxs controller on ebay $20 shipped. Its a ball and spring unit and works fine at 25 psi.

Yep nxs bc here too. Works great and its ball and spring. I've read it will hold upwards of 30 psi, and if you wanted to go higher just get a stiffer spring. If you ask for a dsmtuners discount you can get it for 15 shipped too.

But whats the difference between the hallman pro mbc and hallman pro rx?

pro rx has 2 springs and is made to do fine boost level changes, like by 1/2 lbs. and a 2nd spring for more. the hallman pro is like the same thing kinda but doesnt go as exact as the rx. I have the rx and it is awesome


oh and also its a different ball too

Yep. That's the one I'm talking about.
It will hold 25psi. It will also hold +30psi, you just eventually start to lose resolution. A stiffer spring would fix that. I've thought about getting a name brand MBC just for the visual points.

Keep in mind an MBC simply limits the amount of boost pressure that is sent to the wastegate itself...you may need a stiffer wastegate spring to reach your boost goal.

For example, if you have a 7psi spring in a TiAL 38mm gate, no MBC in the world will allow you to reach 25psi.

But you could use two mbcs, - credit ds-monster
External Gate: 5psi Spring Can Hold 30+ Psi - Setup the vacuum lines with just the number 2 manual boost valve. Adjust until you reach 15-18psi. Turn OUT to raise boost. Then install the number 1 boost valve. And... DSMtuners Gallery

My personal choice is the NXS as said. Works great for the $20-25

Also to add to this, wastegate springs are usually good to 2 times the rated spring pressure on one mbc. On internal mhi actuators(14b,16g,etc), many will shim them to allow for more boost

Call and talk to Marc Hallman and he'll explain the difference between the two. The Pro uses a ceramic ball for finer adjustment. RX7 guys like to use it to be able to run smaller amounts of boost, but make fine adjustments (IE: accurate and small [but measurable] boost increases and decreases). He talked me into the standard MBC when I called to order one. I'd imagine you would want to use the standard one as well.

I have the Hallman Pro in car boost controller. I have ran 30psi on it no problem. And I love being able to adjust the boost from inside the car.

I tried the NXS MBC off ebay and didnt like it. I switched to a Hallman. I still got the NXS if you want it. Just come pick it up. I aint that far away.

Hallman is awesome.

35psi and no problems. Wastegate has a 10psi spring in it.
