Just wondering What kind of torque wrench everyone uses. I am in the need to buy a new one since the one i currently have is a old craftsman beam style with the pointing rod tip. It's hard to use in tight area's since you can't see the gauge and how far your torqued. I have looked at the new click type from craftsman, and i can't say i would put a lot of trust in them. The same goes with a few other brands i looked at. The quality looks like shit, and they are made in other places either than Canada or the States. What would be a good accurate / reliable torque wrench that a person can rely on? This is not for lug nut only use.

I have Matco 1/4",3/8", and 1/2" torque wrenches and I think they're great. They aren't cheap, but they are accurate and reliable.

The main thing with whatever brand you choose to go with is to take care of them. Do whatever you can to make sure you don't drop them and always take the tension off of them and set them back to zero when you're done with them. Those two things can greatly extend the life of any torque wrench.;)

<== Walmart special. Used to build 2 complete engines in a 3 year span. Both engines still run perfectly (stock) and wrench is dead accurate. ;) I wouldn't recommend relying on my input on that, however, as it was picked up out of terrible desperation. I still double check it every so often with a snap on torque wrench.

I'm using a Mac tools electric with degree for a 1/2" :thumb:. and standard Mac "clickers" for 3/8" and 1/4". I love them other than the cost OMG

I use a 3/8 Snap-on Tech wrench w/ Swivel head (5-100 ft-lbs) (60-1200 in-lbs) (7-135 Nm) and a Snap-on 1/2 click type torque wrench (50-250 ft-lbs)

Both are awesome torque wrench’s and i got them at half off because of a student discount :p
