Ok, pretty much I need to know how much money I need to save up I want to get a fmic, my mod list on profile is up to date.
I would like a long route kit as I have stock intake pipe/maf but if I can/have too fit a short route in i will.

so basicly... what brand, size, long or short route, etc. should I get so I can start saving up for it.

I dont plan on going bigger than my stock turbo (squeeze as much out of it as i can just so when i beat people i can say its a stock turbo haha just kinding) only thing i mite do in that area is get a 2g manifold and o2, and a 7mm exaughst housing later on.

thanks, Dustin

p.s. i dont need name brand if i can get the same thing for cheaper with a different name, but i understand you pay for what you get, so my options are open.

I have a cx racing intercooler off ebay. It cools pretty good but the piping is really thin and just kind of fits. So if you go that route make sure you are willing to modify it alittle

Are you sure that's what you want to spend your money on? On your profile, it says the only thing you've done is a 3in exhaust? There's nothing wrong with that, it's just there are other things like an intake, boost gauge, etc. that would would benefit your car and keep more money in your pocket.

I have SSAC fmic that I bought here on Tuners in the classified ads. SMOKING deal that I honestly just impulsed bought because it was such a great deal! Most of my bolt ons were purchased here on tuners, you should take a look. Good luck either way.

Well, if on a budget then the VRSF, but ETS are a little nicer and well the Buschur is one of the best.

On a stock turbo, go with Punishment if you want something brand new. It's the most practical for you. Otherwise browse through the classifieds and jump on a great deal that pops up. I personally would get a used one from the classifieds here on Tuners if i were in your shoes. Remember to be patient, great deals are frequent!!:thumb:

thanks for the replys everyone, my mistake i do have a boost gauge and oil temp etc. etc. i thought i had that on my profile, on the other part. I need to know how much i need to save up on, if i was to look in the classifides i dont have the money right this second and i dout anyone selling a kit will hold it tell i do for me.

I herd Punishment fmic a few times, is that a short route or long route? if i get a short route will i be able to keep my stock intake? i will look on ebay as most of u said.

Thanks again, dustin

*Edit* I can not find a Punishment fmic on ebay anyone have a link?

Its the short route, and best bang for your buck.

Hell, if you don't plan on going bigger then a 16G, just upgrade all your hard piping and run a intercooler sprayer. Though I suppose the cost might be only a couple bucks less.

Thanks for the link first most, second most i was going to do as you stated but also as you stated after i looked into getting all the hardpipes and things for the smic it cost around 800 or so, so i think i will go with the Punishment fmic, plus i like the look of a 1g with a front mount LOL. This will fit with stock intake right?
*Edit* Does anyone have a pic of the Punishment fmic on there 1g front view and engine bay view?? thanks
again, dustin

I have the punishment racing 1g FMIC kit. I would avoid that kit if I were you, the fitment is not that great, and there are sooo many threads on here regarding problems with that kit its not even funny. If I had to do it over again I would definitely go with the VRSF kit over the PR kit, do some searches on here and you'll see why.

*Edit* Does anyone have a pic of the Punishment fmic on there 1g front view and engine bay view?? thanks
again, dustin

Here is a thread that shows pics of my 1g kit, purchased 6 months ago, and you can see the fitment issues with the 1g airbox and the bov flange on the pr hard piping. No, the piece with the flange is not upside down, or backwards.

Other than the flange being in the wrong spot, the kit required me to remove my cruise control and AC, which I was expecting and didn't have a problem with. My radiator needed to be slightly dented in on the drivers side to clear the hot piping, and my drivers side fan had to be removed. My coolant bottle also had to go to make the cold piping fit. The VRSF kit from what I've heard does require some of the same modifications as the PR kit, but not all of them and not as much. I'd definitely look at them both.

I'd read through the whole thread, particularly PR's response. It's pretty enlightening.

Here are a few more posts of the 1g PR install, some of which contain pics.

Read through them all, it seems that the 2g kits fit really well, but the 1g kits are hit and miss...

Mine missed in a big way.

I got the pr core love, it and i did the short route set up myself really cheap overall and it run a gm maf, i pipe for j pipe, but im getting rid of my evo and getting another turbo setup, and the piping was cheap only pipes one was a elbow welded the rest are couplers check out my photos.

I purchased my PR kit less than 6 months ago, and It was still a PITA for me. I didn't have the hood to bov clearance issues that others were having, but it appears to me at least that they fixed that problem by creating another one in the bov to oem airbox fitment. I made mine work by switching from the oem airbox to a 3" gm maf and maf-translator, and K&n filter. I had those sitting around, lucky for me, but I still had to order new t-bolt clamps after 3 of the 10 in the kit snapped in half. All in all there were many issues with fitment and quality that caused significant delays in my installation. A/C and CC had to be removed. My J-pipe is still junk, the first one was unuseable so I had to order another, it still fits like crap and unless you have a boost source in the compressor cover of your turbo you will have to drill and install a boost source somewhere in the j-pipe or hard piping.

All in all, between the new j-pipe, the new t-bolt clamps, and the money into the maft/3" maf/K&n filter to make the intake/filter fit with the BOV, I am already more than halfway through the price difference between the PR kit and the ETS kit.
