Aside from threatening it about being sold off as parts 6 times, I screwed around for several hours making sure the timing belt on the mark. In the end, it’s not.

At TDC with all the marks lined up and the timing cover on, crank pulley mark is sitting at 5 degrees. Cams held in place with STM tuned tool. I moved the crank a tooth forward and backwards one was at 10 degrees the other was off the reservation before the tab on the timing cover.

Back story; 2G in a 1G (not my doing) 1G water pump is wrong so I bought a 2G pump and it worked. So that is how I figured out what was in the car, along with no front roll stop. The only thing I can figure is possibly that there’s a difference between a 1G crank pulley and a 2G.

I have a 1G Talon and it’s on the mark. Oh, and my big cardboard note to self to tighten the water pump pulley nuts before putting the motor mount back in and buttoning up was useless. ...another thought is that the engine has a 2 piece timing cover and nor a 3 piece..FWIW.

I end up taking things apart and rebuilding at least 3 times regardless of however many notes i leave.. Apparently, the notes i leave are just for show and nothing more.

Another artrace piece for my 1GA EAGLE TALON collection GM E85 sensor bracket I think is going to look really good with the boost controller solenoid as well with the GM 3 bar map sensor and the 44mm purple tial waste gate

I helped a new member reassemble his 1991 GVR4 (#501/2000) top end back together. It was a block with pistons and needed some surgical cleaning too. It is just a part or 2 away from starting and running again after a timing belt failure. I cant stand to see one not driving, well, or ME driving it. It was a good day. Pics or it didn't happen!

Got all the HVAC boxes back in with the new heater core after some cleaning and light restoration. Put in a new blower motor resistor. Decided the foam peeling on the passenger side couldn't be fixed 100% so I pulled the dash apart and removed the foam panel. Soaked all the ductwork in cleaner before reassembling.

I got my transmission parts back from IPT, just need to replace the internals on the replacement trans and then do the swap.

Since then, I’ve removed my old AEM tru boost gauge, and replaced it with the newer AEM tru boost X series gauge. Now I’ll be able to see how much boost I’m actually making instead of having the old gauge just max out at 29.5psi.

I also bought a Mishimoto radiator shroud and slim fans to replace my old ragged out fans. I never had a shroud before and felt like a shroud is a much better way to get the new fans installed, plus it cleans up the look and should be a helpful upgrade for keeping temps down.

I cleaned up a bunch of wiring and vacuum hose routing, got everything that was loose and hanging down, tucked, routed and secured. Removed my front bumper so I can start repairs on it and body work it and repaint.

And just today I was able to get the underside of my hood protected by adding a heat shield to it. It’s a VIS carbon hood and it wasn't protected so I ordered a “sticky shield” from heatshield products, and got it trimmed out and stuck on and reinforced with foil tape. This should help protect my hood from heat damage.

Ive got the day off tomorrow so getting some late night wrenching done. New rear hub bearings to complete the rear suspension. Everything back there is new. Half an hour job that was actually done in half an hour since everything had been taken apart previously. Happy to work on something thats not rusted and seized.

Looks great.
I love the HF tools. I have all the Hercules cordless, and have had zero issues in almost 2 years.

My old corded buffer took a dump earlier this year so I decided to move into the modern worked with a cordless unit off of Amazon. So far I like it.

Where was this at?

So couple weeks ago, I sat at a light waiting for green light, let go of the clutch and floored it through 3rd and started coasting to the next stop sign. Went to down shift and realized I couldn't get car back into gear. Pedal felt fine, after few pumps got car into first and flat shifted it home.

Check the reservoir and fluid was black, so proceeded to flush and bleed out. Car went into gear fine again but only for few mins then car would again not let me into gear. Bled clutch couple times and every time I would be able to shift through gears while car was on for few mins then it would stop. Always was able to shift car with engine off, problem only happened with car running.

Replaced aftermarket slave with OEM unit, same problem, tried CMC same problem. Finally yanked the trans out and discovered the issue.
2 cracks in disc, broke ear off the spring, and it wedged itself in the pressure plate. Also hot spotted the ACT flywheel which assuming I did messing with hydraulics. Nothing like a 8k chromoly needing resurfacing :ohdamn:
So new act 2600, resurfacing of flywheel with proper step, and now it can go back together.
Least should be ready to break in another clutch by tmrw night. :dsm:

I daily my DSM and pretty much every ACT disk I've had has done that. One time the PP started falling apart but the result was the same. So I switched over to a Southbend.

I've had the same happen to a Southbend, so it's definitely not unique to ACT.

I've had multiple ACT clutches over the past 2 decades and not had this kind of failure. I've seen the ears break off clutch springs before, but never the disc itself. Nor am I putting down the kind of power that I would expect too 🤣

Worked on brake valves, haltech ecu fuel pump wiring, mocked up downpipe to get welded.

Oh i like it ill need something once i paint this this one good time.
