well, found my compression problem!

well, bought 1g talon tsi fwd.. 80 bucks.. good deal.. guy started parting out but still mostly there... said the compression was... 60...160...160...160 so pulled motor tore it apart and he had cracked ring landing... so i was looking at dsm graveyard.. they have the evo 9 piston 6 bolt rod combo... is this a drop in piston no mods to block...or nething...
new to dsms... on my honda changin pistons and rods... requires notching the block.. etc and p2v issues.. but dont know on the 4g63 turbo..

Just...use...a...hone...or...perhaps...a...piece...of...3...M...Scotch...brite...to...deglaze...the...cylinder...walls...and...you'll...be...fine...as...long...as...the...cylinders...are...straight.

The Evo 9's are not a direct fit...you have to have the rods punched out for the wrist pins to fit on the 1g rods. I have the whole setup now.

Idk yet honestly Im still in the middle of my build .....but Im gonna shoot for 500whp+ with an hx35 and the setup is suppost to be really reliable......the dsmgraveyard guys are talking it up...they should about be done with there build I would think. Not too much is known honestly its kind of a new thing.

500hp on Evo pistons and rods will be fine as long as the tune is solid and not an insane amount of boost. Just had a buy parting out his Evo to go back to school. He made 534whp on his stock block, stock head Evo w/ around 80k miles on it.
