Found my problem

Finally got to work on the non running 93 tsi awd that i bought a week ago. Guy just put a new head on it and couldnt get it to run so first thing i checked was the timing and this is what i found when i put cylinder 1 at tdc.

So I reset the timing and crossed my fingers. Well she started but wouldnt idle on her own and no power but would rev when it finally got above 2500rpms. So i shut her down and checked compresion and found 0psi on cylinders 1 and 2 and 160psi on 3 and 4 so guessing a couple valves got bent when he set the timing wrong. So now im going to build the head a bit, thinking delta hks 272 regrinds and arp studs, what do you guys recommend for valves? My max hp goals for this motor are 500hp.

stock valves may do the job, it's the springs you want to worry about. get some beehives at the very least, depending on how high you rev you may want dual springs. trust me once you make 500, 600 and 700 start seeming less and less unreasonable.

Any brand in particular? For this motor 500hp is the max ill run, want this one to be streetable and I have another 6 bolt block and head to build up for a bit more power if I ever feel the need for more power.... I do also have a 90 z51 corvette, 99 z28 camaro, 07 mustang gt, and 05 srt4 so I do have other options that are making good power too .

Kiggly behive race seriers springs and get some titanuim keepers.

The kind of spring you need needs to be matched to the cam you will run.

For the DKS cam, a basic straight wound spring will be fine. I like and install alot of BC springs and have not had an issue with any of them.

Move to a kelford or GSC grind then you will need a Beehive or dual spring.
