420A Water pump and timing belt

Ok i have a 95 talon with 193xxx miles and I have no idea if a new t-belt or water pump had been put on in the last 100k miles. Right now Im short on money, so Im leaning towards ordering the belt, pump, and pulleys in one package.

If you are short on money then just replace the belt.

Most people like to replace all that stuff at once as preventative maintenance, but it isn't always necessary.

So if you are that low on funds, just take care of the belt.

Yeah, but not knowing if the pump has been replaced. Im prob better off just doing everything.

Just did, those price arnt that bad, prob way better quality then ebay stuff.

I would say get the whole kit. While it may be cheaper just to get the belt, there's no telling what can happen down the road that could result in a lot more damage. Save yourself the heartache and get the whole kit and have peace of mind

Honestly, when doing something as important as the timing belt I would just save my money and get one thats going to last. I would suggest, OEM, HKS, or Gates.

If your shopping for timing belts check out Auto Parts at AutohausAZ - OEM Auto Parts - Discount Replacement Parts, Resources and Car Care Tips I just did mine last week and i very happy with the cost and quality of the kit.... The only thing that the kit doesn't include is a new auto tensioner for the belt. If i were you i would hold off on the new water pump if the current one is doing alright.

A few years back I had a gt probe and the water pump locked up so I had it replaced and at the time I thought about replaceing the timing belt as well but I looked it over and thought well it doesn't look bad so I didn't replace it. 4 months later it broke. Point being go ahead and replace the water pump because the tow bill alone (in my case anyways) would have paid for the water pump. Not to mention all the downtime and for some reason things seem to break at the worst times.

Alright thanks guys for the posts!! Ill prob end up going with the ebay kit just for the price, it might be a high quality like Gates of HKS but it will serve it's purpose, but before that I need the car inspected

Hmm the ebay kit. I'd love to hear a review on an ebay timing kit. Just the thought of it gives me nightmares.
