Here's my million dollar question. Im doing some research on cost to replace them on my 1996 GS and i want to make sure i get good ones. I called up Mitsubishi to get a price and holy crap the timing belt and water pump from them is $179 for the belt and $134 for the water pump
. But i also called up Autozone and they have them for $53.99 (timing belt) and $37.99 (water pump). Now my big question is, are the ones at Autozone just as good at those at the dealer. I really dont wanna spend $300 bucks on just parts if i can get them for 1/3 the price somewhere else. Unless there is a different place to get decent ones for a reasonable price. I do know about rockauto.com and they are roughly the same price as autozone. I have just heard about crappy belts and water pumps and dont want to be the victim of buying a sub par part.
. Thanks a bunch
