Water Pipe O ring Modification

I got tired of the O-ring because it kept leaking. I ended up cutting the coolant water pipe with a multi-tool almost down to the first manifold bolt. I got an aluminum tube that fit inside where the thermostat housing sits on that O-ring, then welded it on, added the first fitting to the turbo, and then added a second fitting to the heater core tube.
I’m probably going to cut back the heater core metal tube for a coolant hose to fit on it and then put a coolant hose on the thermostat housing welded pipe to the coolant water pipe.

I bought these two kits; I’ll add more photos when it’s done. I’m currently waiting for the hoses to arrive. This is literally the best cheap way to get rid of the O-ring fitting if you know how to weld aluminum or take it to a shop, and I’ll add a heat shield cover for the coolant hoses. Also gonna need to buy wire crimping pliers to make a lip on the coolant water pipe

If you’re going to do this, I recommend putting the smaller fitting to the turbo. I’d put it up higher on the thermostat housing like the second bigger fitting, so you get more coolant hose on that welded pipe. I didn’t think about this when I did mine, but I hope this helps.
