I am planning on turbo-charging my 95 legacy with the ej22e n/a motor. I will be using the turbo system off of a wrx. Since the n/a motor has such high compression I won't be able to run much boost untill I do a rebuild. I'm pretty sure the wrx wastegate is set for 12~ psi, much more than I want. DSM stock boost is 6-7 right? Would I be able to just swap out springs? Or evan just the whole wastegate from a dsm onto the wrx turbo?

I'm pretty sure that subaru uses IHI turbos. Are springs universal? Or are they different sizes(physical dimensions, not tension). That is a good pt about them being different companys so tranfering a complete actuator assembly is out of the question I would think. Does anyone know of a place that would sell replacement springs? Would I be able to get them at napa or a dealership? I'm guessing if I went that route I would have to special order from somewhere and come up with the exact tension and physical specs for the spring I want. How hard would something like that be to calculate?
