Im sure everyone on this board has heard about the free wastegate mod, taking out the little sleeve inside the wastegate nipple. I was just wondering about the numbers behind the mod. I didn't know if anyone here knows what the increase in power is or what the increase of the the boost amount is. And my final question, is it worth it, are there any risks of messing up my motor, or is it completely safe? Any help would be much appreciated. :dsm:

i did it an got 2 psi increase...on the butt dyno id say 10 hp..LOL
i have read gains over 4 psi ro 6 psi...but they had more mods than i did and better tuning...it wont hurt just take your time to get it out and dont break the wastegate..

take off your wastegate and in teh nipple there is a littel restrictor thingie..if you pull it out it lets more air flow through ancreasing the wastegate psi capability....if you take it off and look int he nipple youll see it..

I'd like to think that he's talking about the BCS. There is no restrictor inside of the wastegate.

What exactly is the point of the BCS mod?? A poor mans boost controller so to say? Wouldnt you need to tune for the extra PSI. Does it help it spool anyfaster or is it just to raise boost?

All it does is raise the boost a little but not so much that the ecu can't read it on the mas and correct for it.
