okay my friends. my gsx just walked. there was this funny noise starting the car this morning not a knock but more of a clunking sound, but i could here it from inside my house. i was like wtf is that. well it went away after i drove it. later on i popped the hood and reved it a little and there is this rattle in it. i only had this car for only 5 weeks.:cry::cry::cry::cry::cry:
 
the noise is coming straight crank pully. pulled everything apart and reved a little and it seems to be coming from that area. could the oil pump be causing this noise. mine is all stock except a greddy fmic and types bov

I just picked up a 95 Talon AWD with crankwalk. The car runs fine and makes not noises except when you push in the clutch you can hear a very faint metallic clicking noise and the engine stalls. Im not exactly sure why everyone thinks their car is walking when its making any kind of ticking/knocking/squeeling noise. Check for endplay on the crank and that will give you your answer. FYI mine is waaaaaaaaay out of spec and doesnt make noise like what you are describing.

is correct. you definitely dont hear those noises with crankwalk.

edit: i shouldnt say definitely, but in MOST cases.

check if the harmonic balancer separated, pull the head off and check your valves, at the very least attempt to move your crank around.
 
okay the rubber on the pulley is a little worn but still good. Okay i know that crankwalk is way over rated. Every now and then the clutch will act funny, but i also read that those symptoms don't apply all the time.
 
always everyones first reaction when a 2g makes any kind of noise :nono: simple way to check have someone rev the car as u watch the crank pulley see if it moves from side to side at all or get in the car take a sharp rght turn and push clutch in and see if it has less pressure than when driving in strait line

I would definately look into the timing components. I heard a similar noise and it ended up being a BS belt wrapped around the crank gear. It eventually (a day or so) took out the Crank sensor bent the trigger plate (95-96) and a piece took a ride up and knocked out the CAM sensor as well.

Bad ju ju. I would definately look into the issue before you do further damage.
 
This is one of the main reason why crankwalk is so widely known, ricers with 2gs blame everything on crankwalk.

Wouldn't say ricer, but am a newbie. Still in the process of learning.
Okay replaced the crank pully with a oem pully. The sound was still there for a second and then just stopped. i do want to say sorry for even using the c word. :shhh:
