I'm thinking of buying a VR speed fmic for my gsx. The only things I'm worried about are what fitment problems does this kit have? Is it completely bolt on, or does it require mass cutting everywhere? I'm getting mixed results from searching...thanks
 
Um it's short route piping, so you got to cut the radiator support, but everything else should bolt up nice.Just make sure enough room for your bov to recurculate if not running speed density.That should be about it.My friend has one on her 16g works just fine good temps. Maybe better couplers and vband clams I would look into.
 
from what I've READ. you need to cut some of the radiator support, and crash beam. And I am pretty sure I read that you cannot keep you fog lights. Besides that, I have heard good reviews such as "best bang for buck".
 
Good price they work great. If you have the stock overflow bottle for coolant it will go right through there, it's only a small metal cut out, and might have to replace the overflow bottle with one from like autozone the little ones but I am to lazy to search for the articles, but I am sure there are some write ups on the forums you can find how to install it. Just make sure do blt when done and clams on nice and tight, not to tight or you will crimp the pipe. Also will have to make modifications to the crash beam I took mine off but safely doing you can cut into it and make it snug fit. Also the power steering lines will need be relocated behind the bar that holds the front bumper and the hood latch.
 
I highly recommend buying one. The kit is a straight bolt-on (comes with everything couplers, clamps & bolts). You just need to buy the j-pipe if you're running a 14b/16g, bend the ps lines, relocate your coolant reservoir (put mines where the SMIC went) and cut a piece out of the support (which isn't all that hard either). To the OP If you need any help lmk I live in Omaha too.

Maybe better couplers and vband clams I would look into.

No need to upgrade the t-bolt clamps and couplers. I was running 25lbs daily with no problems :thumb:

thanks for the replies, I'm really looking into buying this kit so I'm hoping I'll have a couple days to put it on when I decide to buy it.
And one more question, how do their BOV flanges work? I'm looking at getting an NGR type S, but someone said that they come with some kind of switchable flange for 1g bovs too. Anybody can confirm/ deny this?
 
I have this kit for my 91 GSX. I had to cut the rad support, crash beam, bend my ac lines a bit, remove the power steering cooler/loop the lines, and relocate my overflow bottle. I kept my fogs, they fit perfect and I didn't need to modify them or the brackets in any way.

True they will work just fine, but after comparing cheap chinese couplers and clams to the ets american made ones, the quality was uncompareable.

Depending on what you choose you will end up with an upper ic pipe that has a threaded piece where the bov goes, or you could end up with a welded on flange already.

I think the Tial flange is the only one the comes welded on already. They offer screw on flanges for the greddy and 1g bovs (and maybe the hks one too). It just screws on to the upper pipe with an o-ring to seal:thumb:

I ran 30psi with my old BW s362 with this IC, couplers and clamps and had no problems whatsoever. The car made great power!
 
I have been running my VRSF kit at 24.6psi on my HX35 setup. I have boost leak tested my whole system to 31psi. This is on the kit they send including couplers and tbolt clamps. Here are a few good threads on the job. I highly recommend the kit.

Not to say that the SSAC is exactly the same as the VRSF but the install is identical. Good luck.
