I'm in the middle of installing the vrsf intercooler on my 2g. I overlooked the fact that the evap canister is in the driver side fender. (unlike my 97 which is under the battery tray.). And anyone who installed this tell me my best route to remove or relocate it. I DO NEED PA emissions. I will have Dsmlink in it. Only it is a 95 computer which is not obd2. I'm looking to trade for a 98 computer with link soon. If anyone has some insight to this.

Thanks in advance. - Jake.

The 95 computer I have won't read on a scanner for some reason. Figured it was because 95 was between 1 and 2. But regardless, has nothing to do with my issue, only mentioned for the fact that I can't turn off the emissions via link because the computer doesn't show up on the scanner.

Weird, my 95 and 98 both had the EVAP under the battery tray. Is it possible to post up a pic?

As for not being able to connect with Link, what is the error code you get? You do have the DSMLink chip installed in the ECU, correct? If so, check out this link and see if it helps. connectionproblem [ECMTuning - wiki].

So the evap canister is on the bottom right of the picture. It is the box under the driver side headlight. I'm not sure if i can relocate it just inside the fender well, in front of the splash guard.

Sorry for the bad pictures. I took these last night just to "document" what the car looks like at different stages.

IF you need emissions, I'd just keep it. Won't be seen, that's why Mitsu put it there.

Make sure you download the latest driver & request a firmware upgrade. Not sure how long you have had dsmlink or if you even activated it yet. But ecmlink's site has all the answers you shall ever need.

Btw, 95 ecu's are obd2. Any local parts store can scan them, regardless what they tell you about 96+

I have 95 gst eprom ecu and its obd2 and the computer does read it. I also have the evap canister under the battery tray which I accidently broke off a nipple LOL but yeah, its weird you have everything so different.

Here's a pic of canister of my 95 gst eprom obd2...

I'm not so much worried about the computer for now. Where can I relocate the canister.? The intercooler goes directly in the way of it. I'm looking to see if someone has a picture of where they relocated it so that it will be out of the way of the intercooler.
