Venting.. Loss of MPG?

Yes I am venting so if your here to tell me that I shouldn't vent, just leave cause I dont care. I am not doing it the correct way I just took my bov tube off and the car runs fine.

Bu my question is that I herd it hurts gas milage, Is this true? and if this is true does anyone know how much it hurts gas milage. Basicaly I buy 94 all the time and cant afford to loose milage. Thanx for your Input

I don't see how it would hurt gas mileage, if you don't vent you have a good air/fuel mixture if you do vent the ECU is still releasing the same amount of gas, you just have more fuel than air.

im gonna tell you anyway that its stupid to do...your car doesnt run fine, you just think it does...you are rich between shifts, and you shift while you drive, therefore you are losing gas mileage

fill it up and track how many miles for a full tank then recirulate your BOV and do it again. See if there is a difference. I know you might have to struggle not hearing your BOV as loud but maybe its worth it to see first hand if in fact you are hurting in gas and just how much.

Someone care to elaberate as to why the ECU would allow more FUEL if the car is getting less air? I would think it would be releasing the same amount of gas as before you'd just have less air inbetween shifts.

if you didnt notice the return tube is AFTER the MAS. So it cant see the air comming back, its just programmed to expect it to come back between shifts.

Based on assuming that, which is wrong, then basically the MAS would never know that the car is boosting, and boost leaks in the system would not affect the afr, which is again incorrect, i BELIEVE that the mas reads resistance from the air being sucked from the filter into the mas, im not really sure, but all of that air is metered, period. thats why the gm maf allows you to vent because its before the bov our mas on the other hand is the very end of the system.

what the #### are you talking about? the turbo SUCKS air in, of course it knows when you are boosting, thats why there is a bcs and lines hooked to the intake and LICP...it reads the air, then half of it gets dumped out before it goes into the motor...why would sic be wrong?

would you please just go test it like i said. fill it up.. see how many miles to E. recirculate the BOV and repeat. Your answer will be in front of you AND you can let us know how it goes to see if indeed it effects your gas milage.

I'm curious to know why you'd ask for help in a situation that has been recommended against in the first place? That's like asking if you can get an STD if you have sex without condoms... maybe, maybe not. Why would you do it if there's a chance that you can?
