loss of power

my car smokes like scary ever since i changed my air intake black smoke every where no idea what went wrong can any1 help

Check to see if the MAF wiring is connected properly to it.

all the wiring is on correct, the car has no power rpm surges at 3000 black smoke, cant go on highway, hooked it up to the computer & iv got all kinds of problems & codes .....can this all be from an after market air intake ?

Your maf may be dead, I highly doubt an open air filter would do that type of symptom, try double checking your maf, cause thats where I would be looking.

i did put on my old maf on with the new piping & bought an k&n stock filter & put it on still the same problem is happening....im going to get a new maf & c what happens

in the past few weeks i was on the forums cause my car had loss of power... my car would smoke alot of black smoke out the tail pipe have no power what so ever i was gettin 67 miles to a full tank of gas, i thought it was all from changin my stock intake to a after market i was wrong .....the ecu some how got grounded & shorted ever thing out & my fuel rail was cloged i changed the ecu, the fuel rail & gave it a tune up the car is drivin better now then b4...i hope this will help any1 who has the same problem ( & my maf was dead thanks to my fellow dsmer it is fixed & any ? i will help to the best i can
