hey i got my car shipped from philli to idaho for 800 i went to movecars.com maybe move-cars.com and there was all sorts of compainies look around i got some to say from 800 to 1500 so if u look around u can get a good deal :thumb:

I gave my brother my old car back in '98. It costed around $500 to ship it from Los Angeles to North Carolina, coast to coast to you geographically challenged types. but like I said, that was '98.. i'd guess it's gone up by a couple hundred bucks at least.

I found a new talon, a 1997 AWD to be exact, which I plan to buy. I like the condition its in and the mod list that has been done. Only problem is that I live in Wisconsin, and this one is in florida. I'm looking into having it transported (shipped) up here, and was wondering if anybody on this board has any knowledge about this they'd be willing to share. Any info such as good companies or general advice would be appreciated.

I would gladly fly down and pick it up if I were allowed to leave the state. Being charged with 4 felonies that I'm innocent of really sucks.

Just buy my 1G AWD for $2400 and I'll bring it to you. :thumb:

Usually getting a car towed is over $1/mile... more like $2-3/mile. I don't know if the same applies to "shipping".

I've gotten a few quotes from auto transporters. They are mostly between 700 and 800 dollars. At 1600 miles, that comes out to 50 cents per mile. I'm trying to talk a trusted friend into flying down, my treat of course. I haven't been convicted of any of them yet, and they are all bogus anyway. I didn't steal anything from anybody or hurt anybody if that's what you're all wondering.

What would be my options on shipping a car from wisconsin to colorado, how would i go about that. I could probably drive out there and tow it back but it is a awd and you have to have a flatbed, and i dont, can you rent flatbed trucks and would they charge me big $ to put those kind of miles on it. What do you think price wise it would be to ship a car out? Thanks for the help.

I've shipped a car from FL to CA. Did what f4st suggested. Whipped out the yellow pages and found an auto transporter. I don't remember the exact cost since it was a few years back, but it was in the neighborhood of $800 to go from one end of the country to the other.

I know that you can also rent a flatbed trailer from u-haul and transport the car that way if you feel like driving out to get it and tow it back. I've done that as well. Drive out to where the car is, rent the trailer from a u-haul in the area and head back home. I don't remember the cost of renting one of those, but it was much less than having someone ship the car (and I drove the same distance again. FL to CA). Of course you also need to factor in the cost of gas (and possibly hotels depending on how far you're going). Call one up in your area and see how much they would charge to rent you one for the distance you need.

it was 700 from myrtle beach sc to san antonio texas....just proce around man...plenty of peopel to ship cars

I remember I was looking at a TSi AWD in Iowa once(I live in Mass)And every qoute I got from an auto transporter was in the ballpark of $1100-$1200.The problem with the whole U-Haul thing too is you not only have to pay to rent the truck, which isn't that expensive, but you also have to pay like 45 cents for every mile you put on the thing.

Screw U-haul. Hertz offers the same thing for a fraction of the price. The box truck with a lift in the back my friend rented a few weeks ago had unlimited milage.

Shop around. You have to decide if you want the car covered, in the front or back of the trailer..all sorts of things...which dictates price. Take pics of the car when you give it to them and write down the milage. You can never be too carefull.
