Unplugged battery, wondering what ECU resets

Well, I installed a stereo sytem in the car. And after plugging the battery back in, I now have a nice bright "Service Engine Light" that didn't go way after a half hour of driving. The car still runs fine, but I was wondering, since it has a EPROM ECU, and a base tune via DSMlink; did just the trouble codes reset, or is my base tune erased as well? Also, I have not checked the code to see what it is. And I don't have a laptop to hook-up to either, anyone with any insight on what actually gets reset with no battery for awhile. Thanx.
