Unknown noises

Ive got a couple questions for you guys that I cant figure out myself. They both involve different sounds. First of all, just recently when the car idles Ive been getting a whining noise coming from under the centre counsil. When the revs go up the noise goes up with it. Theres two little boxes under there with wires going into them and I think its one of those. Any ideas will help.
Also, when I start to boost, I get somewhat of a rattling/scraping noise from under the hood. Could this maybe be my turbo starting to go.... Ive got so many questions and not enough answers.

go out side befor you lose sunlight take the intake off and check for shaft play

a high pitched whiny noise could also be a fuel pump... my stock and walbro 255 both whined the same way.. check if it was previously modded

as far as the engine noise... pull of your intake hose [ while car is cool ] and try to spin the compressor wheel. see if it wiggles or pulls in or at [ shaft play ] or if it spins at ALL. because a scraping noise would mean the comp wheel is hitting the housing, which is a BAD thing
