Car noises

So when I start my car up, it makes this high pitched squeaking noise. It stops after driving for a a minute. My dad said that the belt or something may be too tight. I have no idea? It will only do this the first time a turn it on, then every other time during that day, it will start normal.

You're belt could be too loose or too tight. You want to open your hood and feel how tight or loose you're belts are. Also check if they are cracked or dry and if so replace them.

That would be a "loose" belt, not a tight belt. It is cold, and might not be tight enough to hold the startup draw from the alternator.

Belt for sure, I had Samething with mine, opened it up, it was to tight and cracked, so I got new one and it's perfect now!!!

Squeaking is caused by the belt slipping so unless you've tweaked a pulley shaft or something crazy you can rule out the belt being too tight. One of your belts is too loose. Sometimes it's surprising how tight they need to be.

it's a loose belt..... i would say the alternator belt.,... check your charging rate.....
