2G Type of manual transmission fluid is best

I'm not sure even where to add the transmission fluid

Depends on the car. Assuming a 2g turbo I like either the factory fluid or Red Line MT-85 (or the old school mix of Red Line MTL and MT-90) https://www.redlineoil.com/mt-85-75w85-gl-4-gear-oil

Haven't we had the talk about getting the Factory Manuals yet? If not look in the Resources under DSM Manuals & Documents and download thee ones of interest. They will document the locations of the fill and drain plugs, their torques, and the type and amount of the fluids required.

Make sure you can remove the fill plug before you try the drain. You want to be sure you can fill it before you empty it.

I am running Redline MT90 x 2 and finished filling with Redline MTL. The transmission shifts very nice with that combo.

Ok it's been so long I can't even remember if I drained it or not it's been out for probably 3 years

So I have used Mitsubishi fluid in my TRE rebuilt trans since I installed it. Unrelatedly lost a bunch when I pulled the d/s axle so I could drop the oil pan. Getting ready to finish repairs and realized I didn’t have enough fresh lube to refill. Wait week to wait for more factory fluid, or get Redline mt90 tomorrow. So I’m going to try the Redline, as TRE also recommends. Will follow up after some drives.

Redline took notice of what we were doing with MT90 and MTL and produced MT-85 to make it easier.
