Turn The key But no response... what can i check?

I just finshed up my long rebuild on my 97 eclipse Gst. and when i turn the key i get no response. the dash lights up like it should.and when u hold the key the fuel pump runs. But i get no response of any sort. No clicking or nething. I checked my grounds and wires.. Ive checked forums. one member mentioned CAS . but idk why that would not let it kick in.. Im in need of help im wanting to start my new motor........... Your help be appreciated. Thanks, Larry

How long has it been sitting? How is the battery?

Jumper out your Clutch Safety Switch just in case.

Also check out the ground on your battery along with the Negative connection, just a nother suggestion.

Hey guys im back with no luck.. tonight i did and checked the following things

I got volt meter out and checked poewr on the starter the battery double checked the grounds. I then put a jumper on the clutch and still no luck. I had my brother turn the key to start position while i checked the small wire that goes onto the solenoid and there was no power. but the fuel pump was running in start posistion & The dash lights stay lit good and dont go out.
The only thing i get is there are to solenoids mounted on the passenger side underneath the radio housing that just click. I believe they must be the starter solenoids???? I dont know what else two check?? any ideas guys????

Hi I have the same problem happen to me last night and when I turn the key to start it runs my fuel pump but that is it and throw my cel on with a code 22 CAS just wondering if you have replaced it yet I am geting one tonight to test it. also i have two ecus and tried that and still nothing but fuel pump and moved the cams manualy but still nothing

91awd. What year is your car by the way? Mine is 97gst. I notice your name is 91awd but that doesnt always mean that you dont have a newer car also. Neways. Im wondering if it isnt my CAS

There is a very small black plug (3 pronged I think) that runs in with the main mess of wires in the area above the transmission. When I swapped motors, I missed this plug and had to search hard to find it. Go back over all of your wires, and make sure you didn't miss anything. I had the exact same symptoms.

You can test the solenoid by running a wire from the positive battery post to the solenoid connection prong (note: this can be dangerous, use caution. And be careful, the current tends to keep the wire attached to the prong)

Recap: Check over all your wires for any loose, or missing connections.

check the power wire going to you starter had this happen to me just has a bad line

Ignition switch. Bypass that and you'll probably be good to go. It's the same way on mine and I'm going to put a push button start in mine. I also have remote start on my alarm and that starts up every single time so it leads me to believe it's the igition switch.

well got new CAS put in but still nothing so I have put in a good ecu and a good CAS and still nothing and I have clifford alarm system but was told it would not do this

Mine has been doing this on and off. There's a little black wire that plugs into the starter solenoid, it keeps falling off. Turn the key and get nothing, all lights on, full power, the pump runs, etc.

I thought that it was the wire too on mine so I fixed it so it wouldn't fall off, but it didn't solve the problem. I've narrowed mine down to the ignition switch. That's why I'm telling you to check the ignition switch and change it or bypass it.

Yeh got home today and whent and looked at my starter and be hold the little spade connector feel of the selonioad to the starter pluged it back in and she started right back up.
