Hi Guys,

I'm thinking of putting turbonetics 62-1 on my stock engine (out of a vr4-rs) with supporting mods like injectors, dsmlink, fpr etc.

Just opened up the turbo and below are the specs

Compressor(0.70a/r):
Housing Part no. 20249 62-1
Inducer 60mm
Exducer 80mm

Turbine (1.06a/r):
Inducer 74mm
Exducer 64mm

I want to know:
- When this would spool up and at what RPM i will reach full boost (around 1.6bar)?
- How much airflow should i expect from this turbo?
- for how much HP will it be good for?

Need urgent suggestions so i can start putting it in from tomorrow or else i will return it back.

Thanks in advance

its a T3 turbine

Is it a divided inlet?

what size is your motor/cams/compression?

If its a typical built 4g63 with 8:5.1-9:0.1 with a good tune on a divided turbine housing I would forsee 4400-4700 for 1.6 or im guessing 25 around psi of boost.

The tune is gonna be the big thing.

mine is a 1g stock engine, no cams, no headwork, cyclone intake manifold (but all throttle open at all times), vr4-rs engine therefore 7.8 compression, manifold will be a T3 flange tubular equal length, fmic etc.
now what do u guys think? when will this turbo spool up?

I also have another Turbonetics option, dont know what turbo is it but here are the measurements.

Compressor (0.70a/r)
Inducer 57mm
Exducer 76mm

Turbine (1.06a/r)
Inducer 74mm
Exducer 58mm

need quick suggestions on both turbo ### ###..

It is very comparable to HX-40 in size of the wheels, but with that 1.06 AR turbine, your spool would be above 5K rpm's.... For sure...
My guess 25-26 psi @ around 53-5400 RPM's..

I hit 30 psi on a gt42 with a 2.4 by 5500 with a 1.01 t4 hot side..its also a journal bearing.

Considering your motors stock, I would say the above quote sounds like what it will do MAYBE....still depends on tuning. In general you will never know unless you just put it on and see what it can do. We could throw around what it MIGHT spool at all day, what its comparable to blah blah blah...

Its gonna be alittle lazy, but who gives a crap!
