turbo charger?

ok my car is stock and im wondering if i was to replace the turbo what kind should i get and from what legit site? i dont have money to upgrade everything just want to stay stock but put a nice new turbo into it...or if i was to just have someone clean it up? i have a 4g63

How long are you staying stock for?

You choices are as follows..Direct bolt on turbo for 2g, FP big t28

Some mod required turbo's that are bettter than stock, 14b,small16g, big 16g, evo3 16g, and then theres always the 20g..

I have an FP BIG-28 and would recommend it if you're looking to replace the stock unit but don't want to "upgrade everything" (as you said) right now. FP's BIG-28 is a direct replacement for the stock T-25.

You can run it with the stock injectors, fuel pump, EMS, etc. and not have to worry about knocking or anything as long as you keep it around the stock boost level. At the same time, if you eventually decide you do want to modify your car more, that turbo will give you some room to grow. With proper supporting mods you can make upwards of 300 whp.

The downside with the BIG-28 is that the initial buy in cost does carry a pretty hefty price tag. You're looking at around $850 to purchase a new one from FP. But perhaps you can find one used. I remember seeing a used BIG-28 for sale in the classifieds on this very forum a week or so ago. That might be better suited to your budget.

The evo3 flows more, and it less expensive.But the t28 is a direct bolt on for 2g's..

if i was to get the evo III what would i have to upgrade?

i dont want to stay stock forever but i only work at fred meyers and when i get out of school for welding i will be making significantly more money so thats when i plan to go all out on that beast

also is there a way to tell if someone on ebay is selling a bad turbo?

A bad turbo well no pics, no id numbers just be careful or check a vendor, or someone here who can get you a genuine if your not sure.
