Yes if the parts are any good they will swap right over,.

well my head is craked and i dont know if there are any other problems but i found a non turbo engine and all i need is long block so it is alot cheaper than buyin a engine with a turbo and all that stuff... it just seems to be a good idea $600 compared to $1600 i would rather pay a little less

I wouldnt go buying an engine if you dont fully know whats wrong with the one you got. You could be swapping bad pistons in a good block and end up with the same problems. I always say start with a compression test. It wont tell you enverything but its a start. You already know that your head is bad (How did you figure that out anyway?) n/t head is the same as the turbo heads except for the cams. What is you engine doing anyway?

N/T pistons have higher compression and are weaker. The higher compression will mean you're more likely to detonate. And they are weaker so that detonation is more likely to destroy the motor.

We'ver run an n/t block with turbo pistons with no problem. PLENTY of power poured onto it. Holds up fine. The n/t block has no oil squirters for the pistons and higher compression with weaker ringlands. The piston rods are the same strength (same part number) and the block is the same. There MAY be a hole tapped for a knock sensor (we've found n/t blocks with such). But most have a boss with no hole drilled for the knock sensor. So you will have to remedy that.

The n/t oil filter housing is extremely different. along with the water pipe that has hoses running to the turbo and the oil filter housing. The n/t motor has a different intake cam than turbo models. And has the same exhaust cam as 1990 turbo models (manual or automatic).

Oops I thought you meant you were swaping your turbo pistons and all that into the N/t block. You cannot use the N/t Pistons. They have 9:1 comp and More prone to detonation and cracking around the ring lands as DSM_onster mentioned.

well se i thought the cams and and pisons would be diff. i have new cams and pistons in my blown engine...
heres what going on.. i was driving and the car overheated, i thought it was the thermostat at first so called auto parts store and replaced it on side of the road.. well by that time the car had cooled down so i drove it some more but it was still overheating so prob not sloved.
i had a friend come get me with a trailer and when i tried to start the car to pull it on trailer it wouldent start very easy at all. like i had the throttle to the floor and barley started and if i let it get to low rpm it would just die... so i thought maybe craked head or blown rings... i should proly drain the oil to learn more but... i should tell u all this when i did the water pump, which i thought was the prob but was wrong, i had to do timing belt to... well i was not thinkin and tried starting it with out double checking my timing belt job... go figure it was quite far off.. so now i might have bent valves.. but weird thing is when i cranked it for a few seconds i went to take radiator cap off and coolant shot and i mean shot out bottom of resivoir or radiator... dont quite know what the hell to do but pull the engine when i find a cherry picker... go figure i cant find anyone that knows a ton about dsm's in nashville and im broke..

well good news i have got some help and were pullin the engine out of the talon after christmas and i have a guy who is going to do my head work for 250 dollars...
