Haha, okay.
Thank you.

Strip it. I went 14.7 with a custom racing exhaust, hacked air box stock intake pipe, solid motor mounts, FWD turbo transmission, and a car that weighs (less than, I rounded up) 2200 with out me in it. Beats alot of turbos :sneaky:

How stripped are you talking about here? Thats good times with that trans. It has the worst gear ratio for racing out of all of our choices. With that time I am assuming somewhat close to sea level? How big was you exhaust?

Whenever I read all the guides from NT to T it scares me.
They make it seem WAYYYY more complicated then that.
I'm not too awesome with cars, so I dunno if I could do this. Thats why I was gonna go the NT route.

My opinion on this is that it would be easier for you to turbo your car with all factory parts off a turbo model car, than it would be to get into making a N/A car faster unless you just stick with intake, exhaust, and pulleys. If you stick with just the bolt ons you won't be satisfied with how fast the car is. The power to weight ratio of a dsm is not there like it is with hondas. You would have to fully gut your car go with lexan and fiberglass panels just to get the car to move N/A to be able to beat some of the well thought out swapped hondas. Turbo the N/A and you on stock boost you should be able to put out 10-15 Hp over a stock turbo DSM. With good driving and traction that could get you into the 13's without having to take to much out of your car.

yea you can go with a 4G64 bottom end swap hahahahhaahha that puts you at like 202 i think is the best i seen and that pretty much is a stroker

I stripped every piece of the interior and only had the factory gauges and a 10 pound racing seat out of my mustang. All of the installation and carpet also. I also removed the front and rear crash bumper and made a 7 pound bumper fro the front to hold my bumper on. The body is all stripped sheet metal and every thing I could remove is gone. The exhaust system was a 4 to 1 long style custom manifold, the primary runners were 1.75 ID that merged down into 1.5 ID and then dumped right behind the back of the engine.

i did exactly what that guy did there is nothing in my car AT ALL there is the gauges steering wheel me shifter and a seat

If you wanna keep N/A be sure to use 4-2-1 headers if you wanna drag the car. Also you might want to get some engine management or you can have it chipped for you to increase your rev limit, fuel and air. Also cams and an engine rebuild will help you out. Don't get me wrong but I think you will have a hard with hondas especially if it has a B series engine. Believe me I know. I have one.

I had the same thoughts of seeing what i could get out of a n/t motor because i didnt want to have to deal with boost leaks. Im thinking about slaping a turbo on my n/t 4g63 but i need some feedback on how reliable it would be.

The non turbo car with a turbo would be just as reliable as a turbo model. Either way if something wants to break it will. If the car is tuned good, and there is no knock the engine will be fine. You just won't be able to get the same 400-450HP that you can get out of the turbo engine.

As for the non turbo car they make fiberglass hatch and doors the 1G that I plan on gettin. That teamed up with full lexan windows the car should be very light. After reading what some of you guys have done I feel really confident that my goals will be attainable. I may with a small shot (25-50) of nitrous, get the car to hit a high 12. I was gonna make a side exit 4-1 race header for my car after I get a few things dialed in. I don't get where a 4-2-1 header would be beter for a drag car. All the race headers that I have seen for hondas have been a 4-1 design.

Spoonman you say you went from 1.75 to 1.5? Did you mean that you went to 2.5 for the main tube size?

Edit: I also want to add that I will be using a turbo ECU with an eprom chip. I have been custom making my own chips so I can use that to my advantage. I should be able to bring the injector scaling down to the stock non turbo injectors. If not I have a set of 390cc automatic injectors that I know the ECU can control.

I'm not interested in running 12's. Not that fast. I just want some spunk
I just don't wanna get smoked by the honda civic down the street.
If you catch my drift.

well i have a non turbo 94 laser rs. so far i've done NGK plugs, ac delco wires, injen intake, OBX 2.5" testpipe, and a bosal brospeed muffler with a 3 1/2" tip, front and rear strut tower bars.
i've challanged non v-tec civics and acuras and still leave them in the dust! LOL.

look on ebay for OBX headers for NT and do a custom cat back for more power. here the pics what might help you

Have you considered selling your car and getting a gst?

Why jump on the turbo bandwagon??? You can convert over to a gst just as cheap as if you was to go buy one if you look in the right places for parts. Plus for me the insurace is cheaper.

Alright, I have a pretty unique idea.
I am going to try to see how many Hp I can get out of a non turbo car.

Yeah. That's only been the idea for the last hundred years. If you work really, really hard at it, a motor will put out about ninety horsepower per liter, and will be a bi*** outside it's narrow powerband. See "Honda".
