Alright so my first question is, are all four of these bolts supposed to be the same? The one circled is a nut instead of a head for a bolt.

My next question is, is there any other way to take off the turbo except from here? I cant get these bolts to break free.

Thanks for the help guys :|

There are 3 bolts and one stud, that's factory, you're fine.
You have to separate the exhaust from the turbine housing. PBlaster.

Edit because I forgot people use O2 housings..

I'm referring to picture 2 here..The easiest way to get the turbo swapped is to just drop the downpipe..Don't mess with the 02 housing till the turbo is out, that is if your changing the 02 housing at all..Just unbolt the down pipe and you will be able to just pull the turbo and manifold out..

It helps to just disconnect the down pipe, remove the turbo with the o2 housing still bolted to the turbine housing. As for the bolts being hard to remove, let them soak all night and soak them multiple times as they tend to snap right off. The single stud on the manifold is normal.

I tried taking it off with the downpipe but after I removed the 2 bolts to do that, the turbo still wouldnt move because the stud from picture 1 is holding it..

Stock manifold to turbo has 3 bolts and one stud (nut circled in your picture).

You can disconnect the two bolts holding the downpipe to the o2 housing but they may be more difficult to remnove than the o2 to turbo bolts/nut.

Looks live you've douched the manifold and o2 housing in PB Blaster. Give the PB plenty of time to work - perhaps overnight. Be prepared to break some bolts/studs if you arent careful/patient.

Ive gotta take off after tho because the new turbo I got didn't come with a o2 Housing

did you take the three turbo bolts and the nut off? if so the turbo should drop down if the coolant and oil lines are disconnected

Just unbolt the downpipe, and the 3 bolts and one nut, along with the others that connects it to the head, and wigle the damm turbo outta there..LOL..It's alot more simple than you thinking it's going to be..

Ok I might be confused here, but after i take off the two bolts for the downpipe, how do I take the downpipe off?

It is indeed easier to get the O2 housing off with the turbo out. Since it appears that this is all still stock, there's also one bolt holding the downpipe to the motor I think. I undid that on the GST also to give me some wiggle room. And if you read the can of PB... it says to also try tapping the item you're trying to break loose after letting it soak for a little while.

No need to fully remove the down pipe. Simply remove the two bolts and that separates the down pipe from the o2 housing.

Two bolts and then what? The downpipe doesnt budge at all...

Heres what im looking at

Your o2 is free...if you really need the dp out of the way you can remove the other two bolts anchoring the dp.

Assuming you have everything else disconnected (oil & water lines, manifold to turbo bolts/nut) you are in the home stretch. I cant tell from your pictures but are you removing the manifold along with your turbo?

All lines are dissconnected and I put the manifolds back in because It got dark..
You guys are saying with the 2 bolts shown here..taken out

and the 3 mani bolts out and the stud still in the turbo should come out?

Well if everything else is unhooked like you say, then yes the turbo should just wiggle out....If you want to post pics of what looking at the manifold looks like we might be able to tell you if it should just wiggle out..

If you disconnect the downpipe by taking the nuts off, and you have your exhaust manifold off, your turbo is free, only thing holding it up it probably the downpipe. With that being said, you probably have the o2 housing studs to downpie in a bind. Which would explain why the turbo is not just coming out. if you have those nuts off and manifold off, you should be able to wiggle it out of the top.

I have a megan racing o2 housing that I only used for about 3000 miles if you need one fairly cheap...I'm in Canada so not sure what shipping is on it. P.M if interested

o2 Housing is the one with 3 bolts and one stud right?
Making sure

Anyway I took all the bolts out and the turbo moves but its held on by the one stud in the exhaust mani and the two on the downpipe the Downpipe wont budge at all because it is attatched by a bracket, I think thats what KTgurl was describing
