ok so this is ridiculous. i have always had this problem when the clutch catches it shakes alot unless i re engage it the it stops. so i ran it hard one day and now i cant get it in ANY gears at all. i bled the system properly and adjusted the rod. i have 2 videos of whats going on here. the first is when i start it up it makes this weird sound that it never made before. and the second is the noise inside the transmission. so im thinking this is either a bad fork, tob, pressure plate, clutch, ETC! im so pissed and i really need help ASAP. any input would be great please help.

well the problem is i lost all contact with the guy i bought it off of so i think im stuck with this mess. what do you recommend i do? should i just take it to a shop and have them fix the whole kit on the inside. and when i get it back should i just go bolt by bolt and redo it??

I'd Say if you have another car, park this one and take the time to learn and fix it. If you plan on having this car for awhile its probably your best bet. Shops will rape you. And once you do it once you'll be able to do it again. But I mean do what you want. It will save you a lot of money learning to do it yourself. Good luck

i would love to do this myself and i know it would save me probably 500 dollars. but i dont think i have the tools for this, just tell me this how hard would this be to do it myself like replace the whole kit and tob? but i would like to do it myself. and this is my only car too :ohdamn:

Got some buddies that know anything about Auto Mechanics from school? Maybe they can help you for tackling this by yourself with little or no knowledge can be risky in as well as dangerous for trannies are not the lightest animal to handle-you drop it the wrong way or on you, it could spell trouble.

You could fubar one step and it will cost you major pennies to correct this one fubar.

Granted, shops will rape you, but at least they will get it back together correctly. I'd find a good respectable tranny shop to get you back on the road in this once in a lifetime instance where you don't know exactly what you are doing.

I would take the proper route and spend the needed money in this direction knowing that it will be done correctly and no more monies will be spent down the road if you tried to do it yourself.

Good luck in your search. - DSM

It looks like they welded a nut to the block for the bolt to screw into. That looks really bad... Can you get a clearer picture of that area?

yea i belive it was welded. i just went to a shop and they cant do it. so im gonna do this myself i think i can do it step by step here is a clearer picture.

Did you buy this car as a running car? & his name should be on the title when you transfered it. Hopefully it doesn't say As Is.

But You can spend $30 to $2000 on tools. I did a turbo swap with a $70 worth of tools, some craftsman and the other Advance Auto Parts :rocks:

Get Er Done

yea i bought it running haha it was fine. and thanks for your support ive been told its not the hardest thing to do.

fed cars are easy to do its the awd ones that are tricky but if im not mistaken it looks like maybe that ear on the block were that bolt was suppose to go is broke off im not sure tho and that is definitly a cluster #### that clutch has to be trashed

Just like ^^ said. It looks like the ear that holds the dowel pin to locate the trans is broken off and they welded a nut to the motor mount and then used a longer bolt to tighten it all up. That is definitely some redneck engineering that went on there!

hahah deffinately. so can i work with it? do you think it will hold if i get a good bolt on there.
