ok so this is ridiculous. i have always had this problem when the clutch catches it shakes alot unless i re engage it the it stops. so i ran it hard one day and now i cant get it in ANY gears at all. i bled the system properly and adjusted the rod. i have 2 videos of whats going on here. the first is when i start it up it makes this weird sound that it never made before. and the second is the noise inside the transmission. so im thinking this is either a bad fork, tob, pressure plate, clutch, ETC! im so pissed and i really need help ASAP. any input would be great please help.

How's the linkage under the dash? 1G's had probs with the linkage wearing out causing shifting problems. They can't be fixed, just replaced.

If you grab the pedal and can actually move it straight up and down, unit is all but shot and needs replacing.

that 'chirping' sound when you start up could be the TOB thinking on going.

just checked it out and i cant move the pedal up at all so i think its okay as for under the console i dont know what to look for.

rob all i know is that the flywheel and clutch only have about 900 miles on them its a street disk and im not sure what the flywheel is. but i dont think it was installed right.

What does the clutch pedal feel like? Is it adjusted properly? (not to however you want, make sure it's adjusted according to the manual). You bled the system completely? Any leaks?
The shaking that you're talking about could be a warped flywheel/pressure plate or something got on the friction surfaces that shouldn't be there. Hell, maybe a spring busted off of the pressure plate (I've seen this before). Make sure all the tranny to motor bolts are all tight, along with the mounts.
The chirping could be either the TOB bearing or the input shaft bearing. Just hope it's the TOB and not the input shaft bearing.
What kind of gear lube are you using? Give us as much info as you can. That's all I can think of off the top of my head right now being that it's 5:23a.m LOL.

Sounds like the starter is too close to the flywheel when cranking. Like everyone else said. I'd make sure all of your trans bolts are tight as well as the starter bolts. If they are loose, your starter is attached to the transmission and will make that grinding/whine when cranking because it's closer to the flywheel than it's supposed to be. If all the bolts are tight and the sound doesn't go away, you probably need to pull the trans and inspect the flywheel, clutch, tob, starter, clutch fork and pivot ball.

there are no leaks and i adjusted it properly. as for the trans bolts i checked this out and everytime i push the clutch the tranny moves to the left. i dont know if this is a combination of problems or just one big problem sounds like a bunch to me though.

Big problem! The trans should not move when you push on the clutch. You need to get out a 14mm socket and tighten up the mounting bolts of the trans to the block. Take out your battery, UICP, and intake to turbo in order to get to all of the bolts easily. Also check for the condition of the trans mount.

do you think that is whats causing all these probs??? ill attach another vid of it moving.

Yeah that's bad... Like others and myself have said before, check the mounting bolts from the trans to the block. They're definitely loose/missing/broken.

Supposed to look like this ... pix below:

Major wrong bolt and what's the deal with that brass spacer outside of whoever had the car before you did (or, if you had someone do the clutch/flywheel install and wanted your business back with fubaring up your car ...) didn't know what the "eff" they were doing when putting back on a tranny!

wow so i have a huge gap in between the tranny and block??? wtf should i take that spacer thing out. yea i think its all messed up. what should i do???

Take it back to the clown who did the clutch install and show him how ugly you can be.

That bolt, outside of be major wrong one is also a left-hand thread..see how the threads angle back to the head of the bolt in the opposite direction.

Yea, you can take out that spacer sleeve right away.

Don't even think on driving the car until you get this mess straighten out .. CORRECTLY!
