this is on my 91 talon tsi awd.

there's a ground wire from front of tranny to passenger side frame. about 10 inches long. bolted to the frame and tranny where the clutch line bolts. what are the symptoms of not have that wire connect?

i've been told that it will not start but it did. starts and drives.

another thing is that my stock coolant gauge meter doesnt work after hg and arp installed. meter just stays down the whole time.

thanks

The ground wire is there to provide current return from engine electrical back to ground. Since your engine mounts are mostly rubber, without a ground it would most likely travel back through the throttle cable, which isnt sufficient or safe. The ground wire on your transmission probably isnt the only one, you should have a few.

There is a sensor on the front of the thermostat housing which drives the gauge inside the car. Check the wiring first for breaks or a bad connection, then replace the sensor. Its a single connector, on the lower half of the housing.

thanks alot -RoasT BeeF-. i'll double check those sensor on the T-housing.

as for the ground wire, i'll ground that and see what changes. would it effect how the car runs without the grounded wire?

i've pulled that tranny out a few times but i don't recall seeing any othe ground wire except that one. that's odd if there is more grounded wires.

but anyways, thanks.
