ok my alternator went bad and i bought a used one and installed it fine but i blew my 80a fuse. i assumed it was because my ground wasnt in the right spot or something, i noticed that a yellow wire that goes to the power steering was loose and so i plugged it in better, also i forgot to puit the plastic ring around the screw for the ground before the ground itself. my question is which screw is the ground wire supposed to go to. i looked at my old one and there is a b on the bottom screw down by the first spot where the alternator pivot point is, but on the one i have there is no b and there definately isnt room to put the plastic ring around it witht he ground wire and then the nut. when i first put the new one on i grounded it where i thought it should be which is a bolt that is mounted internally on the alt and is loose, u cant remove this bolt because its on the insde of the alt but its definately loose. im pretty sure the b+ ground is in similar spots on all of the alts and so should i just put some sort of plastic ring around the lower one which is very close to where the b is on the old alt when comparing, or is the loose bolt closer to the plug the right spot for the ground?

The alternator is grounded through the case onto the block. There is no actual ground wire. That is why you blew the alternator fuse, because you put the power cable on a stud that is connected to the alternator case. The stud that the power wire goes to is shielded to the alternator with a rubber/plastic grommet kinda thing, its the B+ post on the alternator.
