when torquing the head to you torque all bolts to 80 at a time or do you do it gradually? Im thinking gradualy just wanna be sure. gradually like do them all 40 in sequence then 60 in sequence the 80

I used the cometic gasket first, the a 1 layer material gasket that did the same thing. do you think I should buy a mistsubishi composit gasket and give it another try??

If the Cometic install has failed ABSOULUTELY! Tap all the holes & clean them THOROUGHLY! Make sure the Bolt Threads are clean too - Use Anti Seize on the Threads & where the Bolt Heads bears on Special Washer. (you DO have a 6 Bolt 92 - right?) Torque in proper sequence of course. :dsm:

Great im gunna try this asap. Were can I get them cheap. And how many layers am I looking for i think they make a 3 and a 4

I am going thew a head swap my self on my 90 having stage 2 work done.
I am using the mistu composite HG and ARP head studs.
I used "gasket remover spray" on the block to get the old headgasket off with a razor blade only and used a shop vac on the the blocks surrface and around the pistons to pull up any shit that possibly fell in the oil holes but I was real carefull about that.
The main thing about doing this job is being very clean and carefull and DO NOT USE ANY 3M SCOTCH BRITE PADS/DISKS USING A DIE GRINDER this is the main reason people have bearing problems after a head gasket job all you need is a razor blade and gasket remover.
Also if using ARP head studs use ONLY the ARP assembly lube. Final torque the gasket to 65 FT LBS if using the assembly lube but 85 if using 30wt oil. Check out ARPs web site for more info on torque procedure.
The key is using the head studs nomater what the gasket. The studs provide more even torque across the gasket providing a better seal its no just the gasket unless you plan on running over 28 psi of boost. With the money saved on the gasket it can go twards the studs. If you need more info or pics just PM me.

Hey i went to mistu and the gasket is on backorder! pep boys sells the felpro and I got that should I bring it back and wait on the mitsu?
