I want to run about 16 pounds on a big T28, but didn't know if it was too much before I buy dsmlink in a about a month or two. Current mods are full exhaust, intake, walboro 255, greddy uicp with type-s BOV. Would it cause fuel cut with 16psi without injects, AFPR and dsmlink?

I'm not sure about how much boost to run but don't push it too far without some way of knowing if you're knocking or not.

I would have to agree with about 14 15 psi and not go over that, casue stock fuel system can handle 15psi w/o hitting fuel cut. And as for your wally 255 i would def suggest getting afpr cause your working the hell out of your stock fpr.

We can try to answer your "too much boost?" question, but frankly we'll all just be shooting in the dark. If you want to find the highest safe boost level, you need a tool (PocketLogger, DSMlink, etc.) that can monitor your engine's vital information. Until you have a logging tool, keep the boost turned down to 13psi.

yea man, i'm spazing out right now because i just bought a GST with a 16G turbo and a manual boost controller...but it has no boost guage just stock so i dunno what the hell i'm running...you'd much rather play it safe.

Well I turned it down to 14 pounds yesterday. I actually accidentally had it at 20 pounds and went through second through forth gear and it seemed fine all the way through.

Alright I got another problem. I put on a new bc today (turbo xs HP) and started off with only 10 pounds. Turned it up it went to 20 pounds and held good until about 5500 to 6K and dropped off to 16. Whats up with that??

My FP B28 is running at 15psi right now, but I still have stock, rewired FP. Leans out past 6k. Don't know if it's the FP or the injectors.

Get a logger. "Feels fine" can quickly turn into a blown motor if you're leaning out or knocking badly.

Which wastegate are you running? Is that an FP big 28? Or just a regular t28? I have the FP28 w/the 17psi actuator so with its stiffness it holds at about 17psi until redline. Stock injectors, 190 pump, fmic kit.(read my vehicle profile)...no problems. No tuning either. The turbo runs like a champ. Actually just helped me smash a modded camaro ss with zero problem. I love this turbo!

..Just like kenamond said, it may lean out past 6k, but I dont get fuel cut when I do. I do try and shift aroudn 6k though, just in case. Until I get my stage 3 chip, and injectors. : )

How do you know it runs like a champ. With out a logger or some sort of monitor it could be knocking and you dont realize it. Will it hurt it right away? Probally not, but what is the long term effect? A logger is a farily cheap alternative to internal damage. Just my 2 cents. Good luck

Agreed. Running lean may feel wonderful until the motor consumes itself. Logger=:thumb:

Yes it is a FP big t28. I believe that I am just going to turn it down to 14psi until I get Injects, afpr, and dsmlink.

I put it on a datalogger last night at about 15psi and everything looking good and finally got my boost to hold some after swapping boost controllers
