My stock turbo on my 98 gs-t needs a rebuild. anybody know where to get one for a good price or can hook it up around hayward area?

I'm actually running on a turbo I got off eBay, I just drove the car for 2 weeks and the turbo already needs a rebuild, I don't wanna risk it and spend money on another turbo off eBay or craigslist especially if I don't know the history. Upgrade is an option, but it's my dd, I'm tying to keep it as stock as possible

damn i shouldnt have some my 14b's got a couple of them lying around here i sold bought of them to a honda guy i might have one avaiable though.... just need to ask my friend ### the condition on the turbo... he got about 5 14b's in his garage....

how much would another T25 turbo be usually? and since im buying one used, what should i look for? i'm trying to replace my turbo on a budget instead of upgrading the turbo, i'm not really looking for more power, i'm just looking into getting my car to run like stock, i have no mods at all on this car and trying it to keep it completely stock

You'd be better off spending the extra cash and going with a 16g as opposed to getting a rebuild done. I've been using my Evo 3 16g turbo for nearly 4 years now DAILY. It cost me $575 with the install kit. I even passed smog with it.

I can rebuild your T25 for a reasonable price as long as there is no wheel damage.

Your other option is to pick up a good used 14B and all the oil lines from a 1G. This can be had for under $300 and is a much more reliable turbo capable of producing almost 4 lb/min of additional peak airflow over the T25.

i have a real MHI b16g that got damaged during an accident. the front end of the car got pushed back it impacted on the compressor housing of the turbo. It came loose and chipped the wheel.

I'm not too familiar with these td05 turbos. Is the compressor just held on with a C-clip? Can I swap one from a 14b, or ebay turbo?

so, the cheapest i've found online is $630 from g-pop, so from your replies (which i appreciate for the help) im better off going with a 14b turbo or 16g turbo. I don't think i want that big of a power because i'm trying to keep my car as stock as possible, but i know u guys are trying to give me the advice for "best bang for the buck"

Anyway so far, i found a used 14b turbo on craigslist, Mitsubishi Eclipse and 3000gt VR4 Parts Turbo, dp etc.
and i have a few questions.
this is going to be on my stock 2g eclipse, do i need anything else besides the turbo? do i need that manifold thats on the ad? does this price seem reasonable? anybody wanna come check the turbo out with/for me? Thanks guys.

These links should give you a idea of what needs to be done to install a 14b.
16G and RRE Do-it-yourself hacker/tweaker kit on a 2G
16G install in a 2G

You will need a J-Pipe, gaskets and oil feed line. You can use your stock 2g oil drain line by slotting the bolt holes that go to the turbo.
I would say $250 is kind of pricey. Find out how much he wants just for the turbo.

wow the website suddenly got faster...anyway i called the guy and he works at autobrains in hayward. He says hes willing to part it out for $200 for the turbo only. He says it has about 40k miles on it. I'll probably go check it out tomorrow and see if i can get it off him for cheaper

so im taking it $200 is too much for that 14b turbo? RedTurboEclipse if your serious about selling your 14b turbo for $150 and its in good condition, i'm willing to buy it around that price. I'm actually willing to spend $150 on a turbo if it can still last at least a year or two

Yeah $200 is pretty expensive for a 14b! And if RedTurboEclipse is willing to sell his turbo I would go with his instead of a unknown guy trying to get $200 out of it. RedTurboEclipse is a legit guy and can be trusted.

i bought a 14b for 75 bucks no shaft play at all. 200 bucks go tell him to F himself LOL. look around and you can find a good deal anything over 100 bucks for a 14b i would walk away from

RedTurboEclipse, are you serious about selling your turbo? I'm very interested, i'm trying to pick one up locally, if not i'll have to order one online. PM me.
