Ok this is weird..this is my setup first...96 gst. auto tranny, big 16g turbo, fmic, hard pipes, 3" thermal exhaust (stock dp) frl bov, head is new w/ gasket, timing belt, etc. i just installed a boost guage as the stock one is junk. When I hit full spool, I am hitting around 18-20psi. The stock bcs is in place w/ just the restrictor removed, no boost controller. I am also on the stock fuel injectors and pump(for now.) there is no fuel cut in 2nd, or 3rd all the way to redline when it shifts. Needless to say I have not let it get up that high since then until I get more fuel in or a boost controller. My question is..how is this happening? I always thought fuel cut would hit around 15-16psi as it did on my 1g??

2g's are newer parts than 1g's, something else could have been causing the fuel cut.

When boost first comes on does it jump to ~20psi and stay there, settle own after that, or slowly rise to 20psi?

Try connecting a line directly between the pressure source and WGA to see if that makes a difference.

no diff. it will start out at around 5 psi then build up, before the tranny shifts..say about 6k rpms it will hit 20 or so and shift around 22 psi. I only ran that once, I don't wanna blow anything up. I just had the head redone w/ a cometic and opened up everything..bowl port blend, larger valves, timing belts etc. weird thing is the car feels so strong, and no fuel cut but I have the stock 450's and pump..I have a wally 255 on order as well as 550 Rc's but even then I don't want to boost that high

my car has always done that too, built uncontrollable boost no matter what...i suspect my wastegate is fried, but i haven't been into the matter yet, i just take it easy for now.

Check your wastegate to make sure its working properly. If it is check your vacuum lines and make sure they are routed in the shortest path possible. If that fails you might need to do the wastegate flapper mod. It would probably be a good idea to swap out your down-pipe for one that matches the size of the rest of your exhuast.

yeah, that's the next mod along w/ a maf-t so i can tune for the 550's and wally 255. but i really don't want to push past 15-18 lbs even then so i am taking it reeeally easy for now and will be getting an MBC soon to turn it down..I just don't know why it builds so high and never hits fuel cut
