Last sunday I was doing a 3rd gear pull and all of sudden I heard a noise as if I was dragging something. I pulled over and with the car idling it was still doing it. I shut off the car looked in the engine bay and under the car and couldn't see anything. I started it up and the noise was gone.
I drove the car and didn't hear anything. After driving to NED on wednesday it was making the noise again but not as loud. I took it for a pass down the track, the car launched well shifting was fine, but I was getting knock in 2nd and 3rd gear maxed at 6 counts, so I let off the gas and just cruised through. The car was not knocking at all before, and it doesn't knock when I don't hear the noise, it only knocks when the noise is present, which i think is causing phantom knock. When driving back to the pits the car was again making that loud noise, it sounds like a bearing, and if I rest my foot on the clutch pedal I can feel the vibration of the noise through the clutch pedal. At first the noise would go away when I pushed in the clutch, but now it doesn't. It also doesn't do it all the time, I can hear it very faintly most of the time, but its only loud after harsh driving, or driving for extended periods of time. It doesn't get louder or softer if I push the clutch in. Also I checked my clutch fluid thursday morning and it was at the min mark, so I filled it back up to the max. Thoughts???
Thanks,
-Brian
