Axle or something else?

I have a 91 eagle talon, 5speed, non turbo.
Ok so while driving down the road, theres a loud noise. Sounds like a rubbing noise on something that spins. Like either the axle or the rotor. The longer i drive, the louder it gets. I checked both the axle and the rotor. The axle shaft near the tranni has alot of grease around it with little metal shavings in it. the rotor looks fine. i thought maybe something like the pads would be rubbing the rotor. I just drove it earlier and it made a light squealing noise. a weird squealing noise. the loud noise only happens when im on the gas. when im off the gas, it goes away. any ideas?

The squeak could also be the wheel bearing getting ready to fail on you, its common for it to squeak louder and louder the longer you drive on it...

But i would also look into checking the boots on the axles as mentioned above...

Does the car have a realy bad alingment and incorrect camber? Has it been lowered?

Either of these can put unwanted stress on the wheel bearings.

The alignment has never been right. The right front (side this is happening with) looks like its got way too much camber. i posted pics of it and nobody saw it but me. I dont understand how to adjust camber on these cars. There isnt a way to do it. And the alignment is just the toe right? DSM's are weird. But i love em.

Ok i did some searching and found this http://http://www.dsmtuners.com/forums/problem-diagnosis/155218-3rd-broken-axle.html
Basically, the guy had the same problem as me. Hes on his 3rd axle in the past x amount of months. He described a loud grinding sound like mine. Also, he stated left turns also made the noise get louder. And with mine, thats happens with me too. And mine does it when im on the gas from about 1/4 throttle to 1/2 throttle.

As of tomarrow morning, this will be my 5th axle since i bought my talon.
1st axle- the day i got it and drove her home, axle came out.
2nd axle- my 2nd day of driving it the axle popped out again.
3rd axle- put it in after fixing the popping out issue which was a bent crossmember. the wheel bearing heated up the end of the axle where the nut goes on and that part snapped off. still drove but obviously, i didnt.
4th axle- put this one in after the previous problem. now i have that nasty grinding noise.

Now in the link above, one dsmer said he had the same problem and took it to a 2nd shop which somehow "aligned the axle correctly". how the hell do u align an axle? another guy said it could be the motor mounts. so he changed the motor mounts and his axle problem was fixed. ill have to look at my mounts.
I just wanted to know how acurate those two "fixes" were and if anyone else has previously had this problem.

If you are snapping the end off the axle itself or pushing the nut off and its popping out, there has to be some serious stress. Try looking at anything with a mount\bushing in it. It has to be obvious.

No, that was because of alot of heat caused by the wheel bearing. This time, the part near the tranny broke its side and there was alot of grinding. I tore it apart today and and the wheel bearing came out in pieces. i replaced both the axle and wheel bearing in January so why are they both broke already.

Its doing that kind of damage in 2 months on brand new parts?

The only thing in a N/A that i could even see doing that is either like said above, realy realy out of whack suspension putting a ton a stress on it. Either that or extream break heat cycles.

I have seen a car with a bad final drive do that multiple times, but you seem to have a 5 speed, so that cant be it.

Actually, when i went to get the wheel bearing pressed, the effed it up and had to change it. That might have made the wheel bearing come apart so quiickly. but the shop i take my stuff to now is alot better and know what they are doing so i guess in 3 months, ill see if it happens again. i think the wheel bearing is what took out the axle. maybe vice versa.

Well i know what may have been causing my problem. there is a small chunk missing from my spindle. i think it heated up from the wheel bearing that was on it from when i got the car. guess ill go to the junk yard. ill just get the entire hub assembly as long as the wheel bearings in them seem to be in good shape.
