timing on my T-25

Here is my first real attempt at logging timing on my 2G. My profile has all my mods, but the relevant ones are:
2.5" turbo-back exhaust (w/ hi-flow cat)
Brode I/C pipe w/ 1G BOV
K&N FIPK
boost at 15psi
stock turbo (T-25)

Timing seems to be getting pulled in the 3500-4800 rpm range, which is basically the sweet spot for this turbo (my last dyno pull showed peak power at a little over 5000 rpm). Beyond that, I think everything looks great.

Any thoughts?
 
It's normal for timing to be pulled when boost hits...as yours does at about 2800 but then it should be a steady climb till redline, your timing dips at about 3600 and 4400 and again in the 4700-5000 area which is an indication that your car is seeing some knock.
 
Yeah, I've heard of the ECU changing a/f ratio in the spool-up range (2800-3500rpm) to help smooth out the rise of boost, and I've heard of the old knock sensor LED mod to the BCS that would flash around the spool-up range also (again, presumably to smooth things out). But, I've never heard of the ECU pulling timing after the spool-up range for anything other than knock.

Anybody have any ideas on why there's knock? There's no knock at high rpms, so I don't think I'm heatsoaked. There's no boost spike, and it's only at 15psi.
