Quickie for all you that know more about tuning then I do. My car is tuned basically for 11:1 AFR just out playing tonight before I head to the track. At 22psi Im getting NO dips in the timing at all a nice smooth climb and 25* at 7000 RPM. I was just wondering opinions on this and if I should think about having the MSD pull a few * in the uppers or not?

Here is the Log to go with it I didn't have it on my last night.

Thats the narrow band I don't pay any attention to the 02 voltage there. I use the wideband afr for tuning. As you can see though a slight dip in timing up top at the end well 1* and 1* in the mid there I already added to the mid just have to add a point or 2 for the top. I think I might have the msd pull a couple degreese of timing from 6200 up.

Shoot for a max 21... I see 31 (on 94 octane) on a regular basis and it doesn't seem to hurt anything, other than generating some horrendously high EGT's (which oddly enough, don't make my car melt like everyone says it should)...

Well I have fixed that dip to 13* in the mid there and re logged but left the logger at home. I used the MSD to pull 3* of timing from 5500 to 7500. Should keep it safe.

I run it last night at 25 psi My timing is 20* at 7000 RPM I just wonder now much the stock HG likes that.

As long as it's not knocking heavily, I don't see a major issue with it. I've run as high as 25psi with 22-23 advance on the stock HG and head bolts without issue (pump/race mix). If your knock counts are around 3, you're right where you want to be. I wouldn't go much above 25 until you can at least add ARP's but it sounds like the motor's handling it. Th best option would be to add some race gas and run 23-24 degrees of timing and 25 psi as she'll make the most power from having both.

Cheers,

Andy

Ha, so more boost was the ticket.
As stated in the above post, what are your knock counts if any?
Just curious, and learning how to tune.
Thanks for the updates....

You can't log knock on the 2g the way we see knock it timing pull. As you can see in that log the pull to 13* there because it was lean. I just richened it up a bit there and now its smooth all the way up. We basically want a smooth curve in timing all the way to redline with a 20*-21* final timing advance.

That's right, sorry about that.
Most 95's have Eprom ECU's, are you one of the fortunate ones?
Man, what I'd give to have an Eprom ECU to run DSM Link.
ECU+ can now log knock on a 2g as well. ECU+
