hi
after doing a timing belt job timing seems to be off
i installed the timing belt aligned the crank sprocket on the mark and camgears with dowelpins up
i turned the crank 6 times and the allignment was still good
after installing the harmonic balancer (fluid damper)
i noticed that when i align the cam gears the mark on the damper is of
could this be a faulty damper?
should i re do the belt or leave it like that knowing the mark on the crank sprocket is propperly alligned?
look at the pics
thanks

Did you use the dowel pin on the crank pulley to install the damper.

Without verifying that the mark on your dampener is really TDC it's hard to say. Either pull is off and double check the crank sprocket or pull the plug on cylinder 1 and make sure it's at the top.

should i trust on the crank sprocket as TDC ? or the damper
from the allignment the difference is about 2,5 degrees
if i use the mark on the damper i have to turn my exhaust cam a tooth but then the crank sprocket would be off
or use the cranksprocket mark and make a new mark on the damper?
i did checked it with a screwdriver in first cilinder and checked the crank sprocket mark and all is in line

Is the Fluid dampener new? I would bet that is your deal.
If it works (I don't have one myself) remark it with a timing tape or just a new mark.

In my opinion the crank sprocket, if you have any doubts about it then you're back to verifying it's accuracy against the piston location and going forward from there.

evrything lines up except the pulley mark
so when setting base timing should i put the pulley mark between tdc and 5*?
so to say at 2,5 degrees to get 5* base timing?
see picture
thnx
