Hello everyone. I'm in need of a new timing belt kit with new water pump. Anyone one have any recommendation on which kit to get? I'm looking at the Gates and Continental kit but I'm not sure which is the correct one for my car. Anyone know the parts number on those two brands? It's for a stock 97 Eagle Talon TSI AWD. Please drop down parts number or link me to the site. TIA!

Do it right, do everything once. The belt brand isnt important, I normally use gates or Continental. Buy the specialty tools, makes the job easier

Oem hydraulic tensioner, belt, balance shaft belt, cam seals, crank seal, oil pump pulley seal.

These cars are investments in time and money. Ok so investment implies they pay you back, well they won't. So welcome to dsm ownership and the joy of owning a 22 year old car

Assuming you have a 7 bolt motor...

Gates TCK167A will give you both belts, idler pulley, and both tensioner pulleys for $50-$75 depending on where you buy it. I've always used Gates belts and have had no issues, I currently have their timing belt kit on my 4G64 and just installed the 167A on my 4G63 I'm building.

Gates T43203 tensioner.. for a few bucks more you can buy an OEM tensioner.. up to you..

thanks guys. do anyone know the correct part number for the continental kit for my car?
